Any student of logistics could have told the US that ammunition usage would be in excess of perceived requirements. However It shouldn't be too difficult to increase production accordingly. The problem is that the US no longer has any logisticians worth their salt. Korea/Vietnam were fought on stockpiles of WWII munitions. Gulf War I was fought on NATO's stockpiles, Kosovo revealed how pause were the remaining NATO stockpile. They haven't been building much in the way of munitions for over 70 years. All their logisticians have grown old and are retired. Roll Eyes
