Questions over 'unclear' roadmap infrastructure amid fears of 'catastrophic' COVID-19 outbreak

https://www.9news.com.au/national/coronavirus-update-nsw-opposition-leader-chris...

Quote:
New South Wales Opposition Leader Chris Minns has questioned whether the state will be ready to come out of lockdown by Monday, amid fears re-opening could lead to a "catastrophic" COVID-19 outbreak.
From October 11 fully vaccinated residents will enjoy new freedoms when pubs, restaurants, gyms and shops reopen.
It comes after the state hit its target of 70 per cent fully vaccinated.

Quote:
"The question here really is, will the infrastructure be in place? Where's the vaccine passport and what's the obligation for restaurants, bars and cafes when they re-open," the Labor politician told Today.
"They need to be clear on what procedures will be in place for restaurants and restaurants, bars and cafes come Monday.

"A lot of people, if you who went to high street in any suburb in Sydney and said 'what should you do if a customer comes in who are unvaccinated?' they'll probably shrug their shoulders and say 'I'm not sure the rules aren't clear'".

In other words... "not my job". Mind you, I can't really blame them when you consider the number of abusive customers they will probably have to deal with over this issue.

Who else besides me sees this as a disaster just waiting to happen? Once again, $$$$ before peoples' lives.

The next couple of weeks for NSW should be interesting, to say the least.

NSW Premier warns residents to brace for a 'difficult time' ahead as the state begins to reopen

By Ursula Malone
Posted 4h ago

Dominic Perrottet says case numbers will increase as NSW opens up, but people can learn to live alongside the virus.

The Premier Dominic Perrottet has warned of a "difficult time" ahead as the state begins to open up from Monday.
Key points:

NSW is expected to hit 90 per cent first dose vaccinations on Sunday or Monday
Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant says the Premier's changes to the road map were very low risk
Investigations are ongoing into how another Delta strain got into the community

NSW recorded 580 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases and 11 COVID-related deaths in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.

Mr Perrottet warned NSW residents to be prepared for more COVID-19 infections as restrictions were eased.

"We will see … case numbers increase and hospitalisations increase, that is a natural part of opening up," he said.

"That's why we've done this in a safe way and ensured that we haven't done so until we've had that vaccination rate where we wanted to be."

The Premier said while health was his "number one concern", he was keen to get businesses open again and as cases rise, "we will learn to live alongside the virus".
Watch Sydney's COVID outbreak spread

Four months ago, people in NSW were enjoying COVID zero — now, many are preparing to take their first steps out of a lengthy lockdown. This is where the virus spread, and how it changed everything.

The new Premier said he was taking a "more conservative" approach to the road map out of the pandemic compared to the federal government.

"We believe that our conservative approach here ensures that we keep people safe but importantly get people back to work as quickly as possible," he said.

Dr Chant was asked if she was "comfortable" with the changes to the road map made under Mr Perrottet.

"The revised road map changes were formulated in the usual way where public health advice is put on the table," she said.

She said she had personally briefed the Premier and presented her advice at this week's meeting of the NSW crisis cabinet.

"I note that some of the changes are clearly very low risk," she added.

She said she would continue to give health advice to the government and was satisfied that the health advice was being considered.

"I am very appreciative that the government has given that a good airing," she said.

So, less chance of dying when fully vaxxed, then.

It will be a disaster for the hospitals, ambulance services and health care system in general when daily cases will probably be in the thousands in NSW in coming weeks.

Just ask Victoria

And, sadly, the number of deaths (425 since June 16th 2021) will dramatically increase as well.

Of the eleven that died, it was a smidgen over 25% who were fully vaxxed. That wasn't real good was it?

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet says the state's residents have "earned" the easing of COVID-19 restrictions which will come in effect tomorrow.
Key points:

Mr Perrottet says opening up the state tomorrow is a "big day"
A COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate will be trialled in regional NSW from tomorrow
An eighth death has been linked to an outbreak at Nepean Hospital

The state recorded 477 new COVID-19 infections and six death in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.

A large number of restrictions will be eased on Monday for those who are fully vaccinated after more than 100 days in lockdown.

Cafes, restaurants and bars will reopen, 10 people will be allowed to visit a home and the caps on numbers at weddings and funerals will increase dramatically.

Mr Perrottet said it would be a "big day" for the state.

"You've earned it. We're back in action tomorrow after more than 100 days making enormous sacrifices," he said.

We have over 70% double vaxxed with over 90% single vaxxed.

Sounds like you don't have any confidence in Vaccine to work.

When have those predicting doom and gloom ever got it right was this the company who gave us the Doherty report?

Yes, a big day indeed.

Wonder how many thousands of daily Covid cases and deaths will have to occur with hospitals overwhelmed before Dominic admits that "he made a big mistake" on Monday 11th October 2021?

Mark your calendars. I already have.

(Wonder if he's putting his faith in God like his political buddy Scotty from Marketing seems to do?)

With such a high number of people vaxxed -
the virus should be suppressed now.
I expect the virus to die out.
