It's proven beyond all doubt that being vaccinated drastically reduces your chances of being hospitalised or dying.

Why do you continue to ignore the science?

Maybe you need some study in statistics. That stat tells me you're more likely to get Covid and died if you aren't vaxxed.

So get smacking vaxxed

What makes you think I haven't? Waiting now for second jab. We never needed it until stupid inconsiderate big city folk were allowed by the State govt to come out here and spread Covid around, so it's because of those idiots that us bushies need to now get the peer pressure vaccine

Social distancing in the bush (not counting towns) is on average about 1 km ... that's the best "vaccine" you'll ever get

All the Covid problems originated in the big cities, not in Rural NSW. The totally useless National party, and the State govt failed miserably in their duty of care here in the bush. We had no Covid in June this year, but now, because of gross govt mismanagement, we have about a thousand cases. I won't be voting for them

Do you spend your entire life in the bush?

You never go to cities?

You don't ever travel overseas?

Restaurants allowing only "fully" vaccinated patrons into their premises is ticking time bomb stuff

More likely they'll only be allowed in if they can prove they are negative, especially in LGAs that still have cases

This is why we should stop listening to egotistical Liberal party Gladys the woodpecker

No one should be allowed in restaurants or participate in gatherings until their LGA is completely free of Covid, even if they are "fully" vaxxed

My plan is a different plan to that of Glayds's sheep. They can remove their masks and hug each other if they want ... but I'll be smart and keep my mask on and maintain social distancing after I get my second jab. No one will convince me I'll be fully protected from Covid with just two jabs - look at Isreal

Masks should be compulsory in supermarkets and
other shops for the next 2 years at least.

I always hated it when people coughed and sneezed
all over fresh food and in the air.
I can blame that on many colds I got in the past.

Yes, totally agree.

Supermarkets and public transport.

It's not that hard.

you will be getting more then 2 jabs.

israel has already discovered this.

it may be that getting 2 jabs and then exposed continually to covid may keep your immunity humming along nicely

so trying to hide from it may not be fruitful.

we will all be learning to live with it.

it might be the never ending marathon.

amazing that the people of WA and Qld are still living in denial

Again with the "denial" BS.

Can't speak on behalf of Queensland but I can assure you no-one in WA is "living in denial".

Apart from having to check in at businesses and other premises and using social distancing and hand sanitizing, etc. (yes, I know a lot of people don't do it) life in WA is exactly the same as it was 2 years ago before the start of the pandemic.

That's exactly what I mean

People in western Australia are living in denial that within the next 6 months they are going to have to be vaccinated at very high levels
The covid will be circulating around the community at will
The hospitals will have to be dealing with a certain number of sick people
And that covid will be absolutely everywhere

No one will bother testing for it because half the population will have it up their nose
And we may well not need booster doses because we will have the wild virus stimulating our immune system all the time

And that of course will be a result of the failure of Scotty from Marketing to protect the Australian people from a Covid-19 threat they've known about for over 18 months.

And, they've also known about the dangers of the Delta variant for over 6 months after several warnings from doctors and scientists to close the borders properly before Delta got in. But no, didn't listen, didn't happen.

Anyway, so far we have (on the ever increasing list of Scotty's failures)...

* Not fit for purpose city hotels used for quarantining overseas arrivals after Scotty 'handballed' quarantine responsibilities (which is supposed to be a Federal responsibility) to the States.

* Not suspending all overseas arrivals until PROPER quarantine facilities were set up outside the major population centres like Howard Springs in Darwin.

And, last but certainly not least...

*Failure to obtain enough vaccines early enough "its not a race".

All of these people who I see spitting venom at State premiers (especially Gladys and Dan) every day need to redirect their anger back to the original source of the problems... Scotty from Marketing.

NSW recorded 1,480 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

https://twitter.com/NSWHealth/status/1435408788744409089

And,
9
more deaths bringing the total to
204
so far.

Unbelievable. WHO is going to take responsibility and be punished for all of these deaths?

(I also notice that NSW Health is pretty quick to try and 'bury' the daily announcement of case numbers and deaths lately with immediate follow up Tweets about vaccinations and tests, etc.).

Wonder why?

COVID-19 Mu variant raging through US as experts fear its 'greater transmissibility'

Quote:
The WHO's variant of interest 'Mu' has spread to 42 countries and almost every US state as health officials fear it's more transmissible than Delta and may potentially evade vaccines.

Still not here in Australia yet as far as I'm aware but with ScoMo and the Federal government's ongoing incompetence no doubt it will arrive soon (and escape, of course). Just like what happened with Delta.

NSW records 1,480 new COVID-19 cases
and nine deaths as alert issued for inner Sydney suburbs

...

Health authorities say they are "concerned" about rising COVID-19 case numbers in some of Sydney's most densely-populated inner city suburbs as the state records 1,480 new infections.
Key points:

NSW passes the 200 mark for COVID-related deaths, 148 of those coming since June
The Premier said the final touches were being put to the road map for reopening the state
A decision could be announced tomorrow on lifting the lockdown in regional NSW

NSW also passed 200 COVID-19 deaths since the pandemic began with nine more fatalities in the reporting period, including a man in his 20s.

There have now been a total of 204 COVID-19 fatalities in the state, with 148 of those deaths coming since the Delta outbreak began in June.

An alert has been issued for residents of Glebe, Waterloo, Redfern and Marrickville after an increase in the number of cases

Walk-in clinics have been set up in Glebe, Marrickville and Ashfield offering Pfizer jabs to anyone in the area who is not vaccinated.
