Canberra….. gone into lockdown?….. so it’s going to become even more boring  Tongue

Now then…. that news about them 2 women coming into Melbourne from Sydney…. With no permit and both tested positive!

Why did Sydney allow these passengers to leave a hot spot and without permits… in the first place????

It just doesn’t make any sense.

The border officials that allowed those 2 women
to get through should be in jail.
You watch - nothing will happen to any public servant.

Been asking those sorts of questions almost since the start of the pandemic, Lols.

Best answers I've come up with so far....

1. The majority of people are idiots who don't care about anyone except themselves.

2. Money is more important than peoples' lives.

Oh, and get a load of this...

Politicians scramble to flee Parliament House as Canberra goes into lockdown

Australia’s politicians are scrambling to fly out of Canberra as the ACT goes into an emergency lockdown.

Quote:
Australia’s politicians are scrambling to flee Parliament House ahead of Canberra’s emergency lockdown.

Labor MPs Jim Chalmers, Bill Shorten and Murray Watt all confirmed they had fled or plan to flee the capital on Thursday.

Speaking at parliament, Shadow Treasurer Jim Chalmers defended his decision to return to Queensland.

“The lockdown’s at 5pm – some of us have got kids to go home to,” he said.

“It makes a lot of sense (to leave).”

Yeah, and lots of 'ordinary Australians' also have had kids or elderly/dying family or friends to go home to in other States and they haven't been able to due to lockdowns, etc.

And the pollies also have the nerve to criticize ordinary people who have been fleeing (or attempting to flee) lockdowns all around Australia in the past 12 months.

Hypocrites, the lot of them.

Wonder if all these pollies who are fleeing Canberra to go to other States have to quarantine for 14 days when they arrive at their destinations?

Yeah, right. That will also happen when we see this:

They have in the past. I find it interesting though that the article only named Labor MPs, are the Libs staying in Canberra?

Well, I guess someone needs to continue to pretend to run the nation, especially with the Covid crisis in full swing.

Soon we'll be hearing: "Stand by for an official announcement from the Prime Minister, coming to you from a secure, undisclosed location".

Which will probably be a bomb (and, hopefully for him, Covid) proof bunker under Parliament House in Canberra.

Scotty from Marketing barely does anything when its not a crisis. He's probably in Kirribilli scratching his nuts and waiting for the rugby league

More than 3000 close contacts identified in Canberra Covid outbreak: Health Minister

More than 3000 close contacts have been identified for exposure sites released by ACT Health on Thursday, Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith said on Friday.

"We've got more than 3000 close contacts identified from those various exposure sites, and known contacts already," Ms Stephen-Smith told 2CC radio.

"Wednesday evening it was positive wastewater; yesterday morning it was one case; by yesterday afternoon it was four cases: This is Delta strain," she said of the ACT's snap decision to lockdown for seven days from Thursday at 5pm.

Case investigations to identify the source of the first infection were still ongoing yesterday afternoon, Ms Stephen-Smith said.

"The genomic sequencing will come back today, we're expecting it around lunchtime, and that will really help to identify whether there is a link to an existing known case," she said.

The hardest part of a 7 day lockdown is the first 3 weeks.

Nef,
the supermarkets will run out of:
dunny paper,
meat,
pasta,
tinned food.

Go and stock up today before it's all gone.

Shoppers flock to ACT supermarkets ahead of lockdown despite pleas over panic buying

People across the ACT are flocking to supermarkets after a snap seven-day lockdown was announced.
Despite pleas from authorities about panic buying, shops across Canberra are full of people buying groceries and other goods.
In response, Coles and Woolworths have introduced buying limits on toilet paper in their stores across the ACT, with customers only allowed to buy two packs at a time.

Seriously, this entire country is full of morons.

Why? The supermarkets aren't closing. If I need stuff, I can still go.

They run out and can't restock fast enough.
In Melbourne we had supermarkets where
many shelves were empty.

Mostly because dickheads panic bought. If people were intelligent and stayed calm we wouldnt have had these issues
