Canberra to go into a seven day lockdown

Canberra to go into a seven day lockdown after confirmed Covid case in the ACT

Canberra will go into a snap seven day lockdown after a confirmed case of COVID-19 has emerged in the ACT.

The territory has confirmed its first case of Covid-19 in over a year with ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr expected to announce the week long lockdown at a media conference scheduled for 12.15pm on Thursday.

ACT residents have not faced a lockdown since April last year, which lasted for five weeks.

This comes as the NSW Government announced a lockdown for eight additional local government areas overnight.

The seven day lockdown now applies to the following LGAs of Bogan, Bourke, Brewarrina, Coonamble, Gilgandra, Narromine, Walgett and Warren.

Is Scotty from Marketing going to use Parliament House in Canberra for quarantining Covid cases?

There's quite a few people in New South Wales and Victoria at the moment who would probably like to see it used for quarantining all of these "returned travellers" bringing Covid with them from overseas and interstate.
