Ima smelling an Oriental rat.  I may be wrong, but I can't recall any Chinese swimmer getting anywhere near Titmus and Ledecky in the 200m individual freestyle...yet in the 4x200m freestyle relay, they win..and in WR time.

Nah.

Two Australian swimmers were a second slower than the Chinese swimmers. I suspect Wei Doh Ping and Yay Wei Wan were involved in the Chinese swim team. But, who is going to say anything?

8 gold medals as of this writing. Australia has got its Rio or London haul of gold medals inside the first week of their Olympic campaign.

10 gold medals. We are in double figures. Pressure is off to perform. But, we need to at least beat Beijing's 14 gold medals.

What kind of parents choose "Dong Dong" as a name for their child? Mr and Mrs Dong? It is as stupid as naming your child "Smith Smith".

4      Australia   14      4      15      33      Not bad at all when compared with 1.4 billion people of India. India has only 1 silver and 1 brown so far.

India will be Australia # 1 migrants source country soon.

Had to laugh when the regime's media cut transmission when Taiwan entered the stadium and played a cartoon programme... Only to forget to turn it back on when the Chinese team entered the stadium... So the people missed both.

No doubt some poor bastard will be hanging by his balls for the week over that. And his father and grandfather... Maybe even his grandmother if they can gather enough loose skin.

Good work to Peter Bol for setting an Australian record in the semis and getting 4th place in the 800 metres final. I was hoping for a 1:43 in the final. But, tactics being tactics, we had to settle for a slower final.

I think the fawning is ridiculous.

Australian track star Peter Bol says he’s already recovered from the initial disappointment of just missing out on a medal at the Tokyo Olympics after his rivals killed his chances of winning the gold by deliberately going too slow.

Bol, who has become a cult hero with his inspiring performances in Japan and heartwarming backstory since emigrating to Australia, finished a courageous fourth in the 800m final when he was overtaken in the sprint to the line after doing all the hard work up front.

Just sick and stupid. Good on him - but he is not an Aussie or a cult hero, nor did he stop a nation. Just ridiculous because - because he's an African.

He's a runner from Sudan.

Bol has been an Aussie longer than he has been Sudanese.
