The NSW government will use student dentists, nurses, podiatrists and speech pathologists to administer COVID-19 vaccines to bolster staffing levels as it expands its network of vaccine hubs.

As the government accelerates its vaccine roll-out, three new vaccination centres will be set up and NSW Health has revised its protocol to allow trained senior health students to administer vaccines if needed.

A hub at Glenquarie Town Centre in Macquarie Fields will open at the end of the month, with capacity to inoculate 20,000 people a week, while a CBD site at 175 Pitt Street targeting city workers and residents will also open on a small scale later this month.

The government also announced on Thursday a hub will open at a former David Jones building on Crown Street in Wollongong in mid-August.

Twenty-two pharmacies across regional and rural NSW have also been given the green light to start administering the AstraZeneca vaccine as part of a pilot program from July 19.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said on Thursday the new hubs could double the number of inoculations delivered in NSW each week to 200,000 once they are brought online.....

Are all these jabbers drug and alcohol tested before clocking on, are they clean and healthy and not carrying any diseases themselves!

I don't see a real problem here - although some foolish people will certainly try to confect one.

They're trainee dentists, for Chr1st's sake - not some bloke they've dragged in off the street.

And how difficult can it be - I've been self-injecting anti-coagulents once a day for the last six
weeks, with only the most rudimentary training and with no difficulty whatsoever.

Unqualified people administer injections every single day, and have been doing so for a very long time.

Better hurry up and make a decision about getting the Covid vaccine, Sir Nail. Especially if you're in New South Wales.

Remember, you have to wait 12 weeks between shots if you're having the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Because it looks like they're almost ready to give up trying to stop the spread of Covid and just 'let it rip' and I'm sure the rest of Australia won't be too far behind.

I wouldn't want to be one of the unvaccinated if that happens. Shocked
