US could put aircraft carriers off Australia’s coast to stop China getting our iron ore, says expert

The idea is that, despite China flexing its muscles and increasing its military activity against Taiwan, the threat of Australia cutting off their iron ore has become a powerful deterrent.

In a warning about how far the iron ore situation could escalate, Llewellyn-Smith said it might not even be Australia that makes the call to cut China off.

Speaking on the Nucleus Investment Insights podcast last week, he said the US could go as far as “plonking an aircraft carrier” off the coast of Western Australia to stop iron ore getting out if China even suggested invading Taiwan.

Exactly. For all its military posturing, China lacks the ability to mount any sort of 'invasion' of Australia. Cyber attacks and military posturing are much more likely.

They are backed by 500 Navy ships with 40 landing ships, Coast Guard of 132 and armed 'fishing fleet' of 220 troop ships. At Normandy, 120 navy ships were used against 1 million troops.

There are 30 Ships off the Chinese Coast with BILLIONS of dollars worth of AUSTRALIAN Iron Ore waiting to be docked and paid for. I don't think China needs to invade Australian waters to 'steal' some of our resources.

Cheap Hollywood movie, much?

First things first... If it came down to something even remotely close to that, the US, through diplomatic channels, would ask Australia to cease sales of iron ore to China because, well, Australia and the US would already be on a war-footing against the Chinese regime; and in that case we'd hardly have to be asked.

The Chinese regime can't just 'take over' the Australian iron ore industry like it's stealing parcels from post offices; why else would the National Socialists have respected Swedish neutrality?

If there are US aircraft carriers off Australia's coast, it'll be because we're already at war or about to be.
