Australia's population by country of birth, India
May 19th, 2021 at 5:57pm

is in second place in year 2020.

https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/people/population/migration-australia/latest-r...

Australia's estimated resident population (ERP) by country of birth is measured at 30 June each year. This data is available at the national level annually.

For state and territory, see the following chapter — State and territory populations by country of birth. It is only available for Census years.

Key findings:

In 2020, there were over 7.6 million migrants living in Australia. This was 29.8% of the population that were born overseas. One year earlier, in 2019, there were 7.5 million people born overseas.

Nearly every single country from around the world was represented in Australia's population in 2020.

England (980,400) continued to be the largest group of overseas-born living in Australia. However, this decreased from just over a million, recorded throughout the period 2012 to 2016

Those born in India (721,000) were in second place, with an increase of 56,300 people
(no wonder almost every street has curry smell in Sydney)

Chinese-born (650,600) fell to third place, with 17,300 fewer people

Those born in Australia (18.0 million) increased 211,400 during the year.

The median age of the England-born population is 58 ??? Did they come here for pension?

Soon Indian migration will be number 1 in Australia, plus indians have high birth rate.

You don't think so, do you?  or  you think Indians are white, as some Europeans said.

From current migration and Indian birth rate trend, it's very likely.

Hindustan is a country of few charms. Its people have no good looks; of social intercourse, paying and receiving visits there is none; of genius and capacity none; of manners none; in handicraft and work there is no form or symmetry, method or quality; there are no good horses, no good dogs, no grapes, muskmelons or first-rate fruits, no ice or cold water, no good bread or cooked food in the bazaars, no hot-baths, no colleges, no candles, torches or candlesticks.

Peasants and people of low standing go about naked. They tie on a thing called (lunguta) a decency-clout which hangs two spans below the navel. From the tie of this pendent decency-clout, another clout is passed between the thighs and made fast behind. Women also tie on a cloth (lung), one-half of which goes round the waist; the other is thrown over the head.

(Excerpts taken from Baburnama (London, 1922) translated by Annete Beveridge).

India has historically been an economic powerhouse.

Even Pliny the Younger commented on Roman senate complaints about so much Roman gold being spent on Indian produce - considered the finest in the known world.

India's steep economic decline aligns exactly with the arrival and establishment of the British East India company and later the British Raj. India declined from comprising of nearly 25% of world trade in the mid 18th century to 2% by 1947.

As for looks, stories are legion about Edwina Mountbatten's affairs with Indian men.

The British founded Australia to get rid of criminal elements and later as a dumping ground
for British rubbish from nuclear waste to the useless  population.

If Australia was as insignificant as you try to make out, you would not be posting here.

European Union Opens Borders to Mass India Migration with ‘Mother of All Deals’

India already ranks among the top countries of origin for legal migration into the EU, with Indian nationals receiving the second-most first-time residence permits among any nationality in 2024, at 192,400, only behind Ukraine at 295,600.

According to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there are currently over 800,000 Indians living in the European Union.

Commission President von der Leyen and Prime Minister Modi were joined at the unveiling by President of the European Council António Costa, who touted his own Indian citizenship through his father and therefore said that the agreement had a “very special meaning” to him.
