Those are "noble righties", dear. Noble Gordon, noble Rhino, jolly noble Valkie (Matty).

In reality, there has been no ideology in this debate. Noble righties and despicable leftards alike have, by and large, in most countries, acted on the advice of health experts.

This is what we want politics to be - a rational, well-informed discussion of policy, carried out in the interest of all citizens.

In Australia, the political debate about covid hasn't taken ideological lines at all, which leaves those in the business of culture wars out of a job.

The one country where this was tried, where even mask-wearing was turned into a political statement, the president was sent BACK TO WHERE HE CAME FROM.

Yes, the noble Donald was thrown out on his noble arse for playing culture wars with covid. His ads for hydrochloraquine, his proposals of bleach injections and his careless infection of others including his own staff, Dear Leader was shown the door for: (a) talking down a pandemic in the interest of trade negotiations, (b) sitting on his hands while covid took out half a million people, (c) being incapable of showing leadership in a national crisis, and (d) being caught flat-out lying.

So yes, while you might want a health debate along ideological lines, you'll note that no one's biting. The rest of us are over culture wars and just want to get on with discussing the policies. Covid has shown us how important governments are, and how politics can work - must work.

Fox News has lost its teeth, and the influence of News Ltd is waning. The American voters stood up to Fox when they threw out Trump. Now, politicians can move onto other policy areas such as global warming. Tucker, Hannity and Miranda Devine will still be shrieking, but the rest of us can just get on with the job. We need our governments, whatever their stripes, to act.

Whether you're a Tory, Labor, Democrat, Republican or CCP doesn't matter. Yes, the virtue-signallers will continue to have their hissies, but we don't have to be shouted down.

That's the lesson of covid, dear. While you'll keep playing righties and leftards, the jig's up, we know. We face immediate health, economic and climate crises. We need our governments more than ever. We need to come together and stop virtue signalling.

You?

The Indian was used as indentured labour throughout the Empire, dear. He works for a penny, sings for a song.

Your Chinaman too. He'd work for opium. Indians and Chows built much of the Empire. Your Chow had a taste for gold, so we got a few down here. His brothers went on to open Chinese restaurants in every town in the country.

But alas, one thing kept them out: the White Australia Policy. The Labor Party didn't want the un-unionised labour, the Tories didn't want the coloured blood, so they agreed: we don't want them here.

We changed our minds in the 1970s, so that's that. They're now one of us. If you've got an Aussie passport, you're an Aussie.

totally agree

the indian and the chinaman can outwork the aussie chode with their hands tied behind their backs.

go visit fiji .

the chinese and the indians run every business.

they come inot a neighborhood of chodes and they apply the evolutionary blowtorch and soon their kids are all going to university, becoming doctors and accountants whilst the entitled locals bitch and moan and "dont want them here'

they 'dont want them here' because they dont want to have to compete with tehir industriousness and family loyalty.

we should study the chinese and the indians and 'do what they are doing".

chodes should start a resturant or run a 7/11 and work 80 hour weeks and make the kids work for free and build a dynasty.

of course, the entitled chodes wont.  its simpler to just try to suck milk  from Scomos man boobs and remain a permanent infant .

Karnal,
Why would a nice guy like you wanna kill a genius?...Do you know that the man really likes you? He likes you. He really likes you. But he's got something in mind for you. Aren't you curious about that?...There's something happening out here, man....I know something that you don't know. That's right, Karnal. The man is clear in his mind, but his soul is mad. Oh, yeah. He's dying, I think. He hates all of this. He hates it, but the man's, uh. He reads poetry outloud, all right?...He likes you 'cause you're still alive. He's got plans for you. No, no, I'm not gonna help you. You're gonna help him, man...I mean, what are they gonna say, man, when he's gone, huh? 'Cause he dies when it dies, man. When it dies, he dies. What are they gonna say about him? What are they gonna say? He was a kind man? He was a wise man? He had plans? He had wisdom? Bulls--t, man! Am I gonna be the one that's gonna set them straight? Ah. That went out the door with liberalism and the thoughts of John Stuart Mill. He stated:

Quote:
"The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harm_principle

That's why we elect governments to pass laws that stop people, for example, infecting others with covid.

One person can't be tasked with the responsibility of preventing himself from being contaminated, that requires a community with a rule of law and a means of restricting people's freedoms when they harm others.

Likewise, one person can't stop his climate from getting hotter, it's everybody's climate. We all have the responsibility not to harm others, but we elect governments to create laws when this is in doubt.

John Stuart Mill? A "noble righty".

You?

But alas, one thing kept them out: the White Australia Policy. The Labor Party didn't want the un-unionised labour, the Tories didn't want the coloured blood, so they agreed: we don't want them here.

We changed our minds in the 1970s, so that's that. They're now one of us. If you've got an Aussie passport, you're an Aussie.

Australia needs cities like Kolkata and Mumbai.

I believe that's what "populate or perish" is all about, dear. Mumbai has some of the highest real estate prices in the world. Number one? Hong Kong.

Sydney's up there too. How's Rooty Hill going?

The sleepy whiteness is having a softening effect on the local property market. Then again, we don't have open sewers. So it's, you know, swings and roundabouts.

Karnal,
Why would a nice guy like you wanna kill a genius?...Do you know that the man really likes you? Look at me. Wrong!

You.

No -  you.

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

If only Australians could learn to love working 80 hours a week in a sweat shop for $3 a day. Come on people, lift your game.

australians should learn to embrace the grind
they should learn not to be punk ass little whining bitches.
the work ethic in this country is a joke to me.

i think the left feel compassion for the refugees on manus island because they know those guys arent going to come to australia and work their asses off and send their kids to uni to become doctors and accountants.

i think the left do not like migrants from india and china because they know those guys are going to come to australia and out perform them at every level.
i went to my daughters speech night and the top 5 kids who got all the academic awards were all sally ho and vincent chang and susan nguyen and rebecca singh and billy sanawangar.  it wasnt til number 6 we got an anglo name.

my message to aussies ....lift you game .

(stop gloating about how 100 blokes and 3 draglines digging up iron ore is a reflection of your own success....its a reflection of your own chode mentality)
