depends on your priorities.

like the yanks in the vietnam war, all you can focus on is "the body count".

that usually means you have extreme death anxiety and demand society bends itself to create for you a "safe space'.

i actually think a meaningless life of 'safe spaces" and viewing the death of a 95 yo with dementia as a "catastrophic death" (as one of our chief health officers called it) to be a sign of a society that has somewhat lost the plot.

things like rock concerts, sporting events, allowing resturantor, gym owners and tourism operators to flourish, international travel and foreign students are, to me, so important that they are worth the risk.

that risk will be imposed on you anyway.

you cannot hide from covid forever.

florida texas are back to business as usual in 2021.

australia would seem determined to slowly "rip off the band aid" for , possibly , years.

this seems a non fruitful way of being.

it seems to be living a life based on fear and selfishness and trying to "cope"
just trying to "linger" a bit longer whilst doing nothing, risking nothing, producing nothing and achieving nothing.

that is so mediocre and soul destroying that it will annihilate the mental health of our younger generations.

to me, that is wicked, sinful and disgraceful.

and just to keep old frightened people from having to face their destiny.

and i assure you, a slow lingering death from cancer or alzheimers will make covid look like a blessing

Your opinion is valid but not at the the exclusion of others. A problem I see, is that you base your assumptions on the early idea that Covid 19 only kills old people. That is now clearly not the case. The younger people and their health issues are obviously not being attended to in India or Brazil. What if a person is in a car accident, and cannot get medical attention because the system is clogged with Covid patients? And more dangerous variants are appearing in all the places of close population. No doubt, if we did nothing the virii would run there course, but at a cost that you are sure won't be too bad. I am not so sure.

Florida:

Florida COVID update for Friday: 4,165 new cases, 86 resident deaths. Positivity under 5%

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/coronavirus/article251235499.html

Quote:
Florida’s Department of Health on Friday announced 4,165 new confirmed cases of COVID-19. The state also announced 89 new deaths. Of those who died, 86 were residents.

The state has recorded a known total of 2,262,598 coronavirus cases and 36,346 deaths. Among those who died, 35,635 were residents and 711 were non-residents.

36,346 deaths, that's a pretty heavy price to pay so far. And, I wouldn't consider 4,165 new confirmed cases and 89 new deaths just for yesterday to be "back to business as usual".

However, Texas seems to be doing better lately.

Eight Weeks After Texas COVID-19 Restriction Rollback, Case Numbers Stay Low

https://thetexan.news/eight-weeks-after-texas-covid-19-restriction-rollback-case...

Quote:
Since Gov. Greg Abbott lifted the mask mandate and business capacity restrictions across Texas two months ago, the number of new COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities has remained low.

Data from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) shows the weekly rolling average number of daily new cases and total hospitalizations peaked in mid-January around 19,100 and 14,000, respectively.

As the vaccine rolled out in the following months, those numbers plummeted to 3,000 and 4,700 by the time Abbott’s orders were lifted on March 10.

Since then, cases and hospitalizations have steadily declined to about 1,900 and 2,600 as of May 6.

The number of reported coronavirus-related deaths has followed a similar downward trend, though the total number of fatalities for the most recent few weeks is often inaccurate because of delays in reporting.

The situation may be improving in Texas but I hope they don't get complacent after we've seen what happened to India when they "let their Covid guard down".

I am extremely fit and healthy with no underlying health issues, I take zero medication, I will not be taking the Astra Zeneca vaccine. I have a much lower chance of dying from Covid than I do from blood clots related to the vaccine. In fact Im fairly sure Ive had Covid19 and recovered from it.

But you didn't get tested and make available your assumed positive diagnosis to the community around you?

For shame.
Last year, I really wasnt too switched onto the symptoms at the time to be quite honest, I rarely get ill and it is never enough to make me think that I need any form of medical assistance, this was the same. It was only after reading a list of common symptoms weeks later that I realised my wife and myself  had exhibited all of those in a minor way for a week or so. I think you will find there are a lot of people in the community who have had it and not realised.

I’m going to have to agree with you Rhino... because....it was early January 2020, my daughter is up in the Gold Coast..... unknowingly, some COVID 19 thing was happening up there, I think (Hanks and wife came in with it, then later hospitalised)
Daughter went into a certain food place... she started feeling ill and came down with full blown flu... losing smell and taste.
As it wasn’t yet understood this COVID virus and symptoms... maybe it was... maybe not. Masks etc didn’t seem to be the order of the day.
About 3/4 during her flu thingy..... we picked her up at Melbourne airport. In the car with her.
I then, within a week, started feeling run down and wham... got the flu symptoms, much to my surprise, in mid summer??!!
(Odd thing is... hubby didn’t get any symptoms at all with us)

I uptake vit d, c, zinc, and other stuff, shortened flu symptoms to 4 days tops.
Once the Covid infections  came in thick and fast by mid March....and Qld border was locked....I wondered if I had it and survived it?
Doctors surgeries were shut down and couldn’t get an appointment unless it was urgent, and no blood tests were being conducted. Phone appointments only.
I wanted to know if a blood test could determine if I had it or not.

Mid winter, finally there were those testing stations for swabs... I went and my results showed negative.

I’ve given up. But now wondering.... if a blood test could in fact show whether I’ve got anti bodies from Covid or not?

I have a medical appointment next week and will ask about having a test for that.
Stay tuned. Will let you know what doc says.

PS funny thing is.... I usually get a bit of flu during later winter months, but had none since last year in January.
Thanks to isolation, mandatory masks, social distancing, extra-extra sanitising, lockdowns etc.

Very interesting observations. Thanks.

Yes, it is possible both of you had covid.
I think the test for covid and the test for antibodies are different tests. I am not sure on that.
So if they are testing for covid and you have the antibodies, it won't 'see' those.

In my experience immunity boosters and the like are very good.
Whatever you can do to help yourself is good.

Back again.
I went to doctor and asked for blood test to see if I have anti bodies since I was flu ridden last January 2020, when daughter brought it home from the Gold Coast when COVID went rife up there.

Was told.... they don’t do that test .... only the swab test if you have COVID or not.
Well I don’t understand that.
Maybe just a Victoria thing?

Can some of the interstate members here please ask your doctor about it and let’s do our own survey/observation regarding blood tests/antibodies.

I would imagine you could request/pay for a test of covid antibodies.

Would not think it is a Victoria thing only.
No reason to suspect that

I asked for a Covid-19 antibody test at the end of October 2020.
No such test was available in Australia.

So much uncertainty and learning and change of who and when to get COVID injections.

Q.
How many blood clotting cases have been linked to the Ivermectin 'triple' therapy  ?

A treatment which kills COVID in the human body.

I'd rather have the Borody produced, Ivermectin 'triple' therapy, with zinc and doxycycline,
rather than an experimental vaccine produced by medical conglomerates hoping to make $$$BILLIONS in profits from this worldwide human emergency [an emergency for ill and unhealthy people].
