The Best Way to Combat Christophobia?
Easy - just ask Christians to redact all the parts of their Bible which promote violence.
You know -
a big black texter mark over all those violent passages.
Sure - we can do that -
most of the OT would be redacted especially Deuteronomy.
An admission, Bobby! Well done! You are the first Christian, apart from the Pope to admit there is a problem with the Bible. Now, what are you going to do about it?
OLD Testament - NEW Testament.
What do you think the point was to have a NEW Testament, Bbwian?? What has the NEW Testament superseded?
C'mon, you have a Doktorate in Resentment, you should know.
If the New Testament replaced the Old Testament, then their should be no more editions of The Bible containing the Old Testament, Soren. The Old is still used in Christianity, it has not been replaced. The Old Testament is still a core part of Christianities' teachings - all of it. Tsk, tsk, tsk...
The NT could not have happened without the OT. The Covenant with the Jews (Torah) and the other books of the OT attesting to that covenant were extended to all humanity in the NT and that new covenant was placed on a new footing, a new way of relating God to man. Since the non-covenant parts of the OT are mostly the history of the Jews, it remains instructive, especially since the New covenant was made in the name of a Jew. It would be impossible to understand the NT without knowing the OT.
The Old Testament instructs believers to conduct atrocities, exactly as the Koran does, Soren. You are advocating the conduct of atrocities. You are a hypocrite. Tsk, tsk, tsk...
You are lying, knowingly. Soooo Bbwianesque. History is not instruction, cockwomble.
Is this 'instructions' for eternal slaughter of the French, ya moron?
This day is called the feast of Crispian:
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say ‘To-morrow is Saint Crispian:’
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars.
And say ‘These wounds I had on Crispin’s day.’
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day: then shall our names.
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remember’d.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember’d;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.
