With 40 plus degree heat in that hell hole tempers must be frayed with McGowan's bizarre behaviour.
Well, hardly anyone bothered getting tested yesterday (Christmas Day + 43 degree heat) and I couldn't really blame them. 2 new cases reported.
Can't see too many getting tested today either with the Boxing Day sales on and 44 degrees forecast.
And, while it was disappointing for the passengers involved (especially at Christmas) I just have to point out the irony here:
Airport chaos as dozens of flights cancelled on Christmas Eve Quote:Thousands of travellers have been dealt a huge blow after Jetstar cancelled dozens of Christmas Eve flights across the country.
More than two dozen flights were pulled from their domestic schedules on Friday, with popular routes heavily impacted, throwing plans into disarray.
Jetstar confirmed flights have had to be cancelled because frontline staff have needed to get tested and isolate as close contacts.
At least 14 Jetstar and Qantas flights between Sydney and Melbourne have been removed on Friday.
Ten Qantas and Jetstar flights between Sydney and Brisbane have been axed, while four flights between Sydney and the Gold Coast were cancelled.
A Virgin Australia spokesperson confirmed while no flights were cancelled on Friday, schedule changes had been made throughout the week.
Same thing has been happening worldwide.
As I said... I had to point out the irony because the airlines were one of the main businesses pushing for borders to be reopened regardless of Covid,
even if ‘some people may die’ in one particular case.
I don't usually believe in Karma but its nice to think that's what is happening to the airlines here.
lol
airlines save people from dying you silly billy.
and they save young healthy people .
when you close airlines people have to drive and driving is way more deadly
The official death toll for the September 11 attacks stands at 2,996, including the 19 hijackers, but research suggests that there is a further, indirect toll as a result of behavioural changes induced by fear.
In the months after the 2001 terror attacks, passenger miles on the main US airlines fell by between 12% and 20%, while road use jumped.
The change is widely believed to have been caused by concerned passengers opting to drive rather than fly. Travelling long distances by car is more dangerous than travelling the same distance by plane.
Measuring the exact effect is complex because there is no way of knowing for sure what the trends in road travel would have been had 9/11 not happened. However, Professor Gerd Gigerenzer, a German academic specialising in risk, has estimated that an
extra 1,595 Americans died in car accidents in the year after the attacks – indirect victims of the tragedy.
it is vital to reopen airlines to save lives.
as you are well aware.
"you cant put a price on a human life"
