Ah yes, Perth.

Where we have no restrictions, no requirement to wear a mask,  and are free to gather in crowds as large as we like wherever we like.

How's it working out for you over east?

I'm curious.

Couple of pictures I took at Zone Bowling in Cannington this afternoon when I popped in there with my aunt on our way back from Gosnells Railway Markets.

Wouldn't be able to take pictures like this in Sydney or Melbourne right now because all the bowling centres (and all other entertainment venues) are closed due to lockdowns.

yeah

and in 6 months, the boys in sydney will be kicking back with a beer as WA goes into its 5th lockdown because your premier has amped up the anxiety to the point, the whole state will poop its pants when they get a couple of cases.

your hour of being a laughing stock is rapidly approaching

Our 5th lockdown will probably only happen due to the incompetence I've mentioned in my previous post.

how many people in WA
2 1/2 million?

you get to 70 % vax  (that will be hard without the covid blowtorch)

thats still 900,000 un vaxed.

and from what we see in isreal, they are lining up for number 3 vax as cases rise.

so maybe over a million cases.

delta is SOOOO contagious, you are going to have 1/2 a million cases next year.

if you lock down every time you get a few cases, you'll be locking down forever, so that wont happen,

especially when the rest of OZ is over it.

but say you get 1/2 a million cases next year or even over the next 2 years.

at 10 % hospitalisation thats 50,000 admissions.

see, if you are like most of the rest of the world , its over pretty quick.

but if you draw it out, you have old people in hospital for weeks, 50,000 of them
you will paralyse your hospital system for years, instead of for a few months.

most countries end up with about the same number of deaths.

some have them quick and some draw it out but you wont get away without 1000's of deaths.

that is impossible.

you will hust have many lockdowns, a demolished health system.
you will waste your entire health budget on 85 yo who you will never wean off the ventilator and who probably shouldnt have been admitted in the first place.

look at india, it had a bit of pain for a month or 2 , now its all over. its back playing test cricket.

all WA is doing is slowly slwoly slwoly ripping off ther band aid.

you premier cannot protect you from delta

that is not possible

you are going to have many admissions, much chaos and much mayhem.

better to just get on with it , rather then be the only place on earth still pooping your pants next year, whilst everyone else is kicking back with  a beer, rolling their eyes at you  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Yeah, let's make a bet, turd. You  will dishonour it like you dishonoured every bet. Dishonour is what you do, turd. That's why you are tagged a turd.  You'd  die before you would be honest and honourable.  You get that trait from your dad, Bbwian. A family thing.

Reading this article this morning about WA.
Does this sound a bit harsh or extreme?

The problem I have with this is the exemptions given to sporting clubs.

People can't travel here for compassionate reasons, but if some footballers from New Zealand and Victoria want to come here to play some silly game they're ushered right in.

Not good.

This has been a problem everywhere. Sports players, millionaires and movie stars getting special treatment.

Yes, Lols, it is harsh and extreme.

But, what's the alternative? End up like NSW with 149 deaths so far (and counting) and out of control cases?

From a WA reader:
McGowan's continuous uneducated attacks on Gladys Berejiklian and the NSW liberal government policy of ‘get the jab’ as the best solution to the Delta variant reveals much about his own Government’s policy failures. He inherited an economy that was at the start on a mining boom. The political pain, as a result of some very hard community infrastructure decisions, was already borne by the previous Barnett liberal government but McGowan has done nothing to capitalize on it. The ineptitude handling of the lack of resources in the hospital system is why he keeps the borders shut. When Delta comes to WA it will be a disaster to his personal ratings, nothing else matters to him. Lowest vaccination rates in Australia especially in the vulnerable indigenous communities. Mental health of those unable to have loved ones cross the border will be around for years to come. Industry pleading for workers to allowed in to pick the crops or even just keep the cafe doors open has fatigue and resulting accidents a real threat. Does he care, answer no.

*sigh*

Well, at least I should have had my second Covid vaccination before then and my aunt had her second one last week so at least we can stock up on toilet rolls and 'bunker down' if there's a Covid outbreak and lockdown as a result of this.

Let's see if Mark lives up to his 'promise' of not letting wives, girlfriends and other assorted 'hangers on' come here for the game (not like what Annastacia has done with the NRL in Queensland).

I can tell you that if he lets the WAGS in, he'll lose my vote at the next election.

There's just no need for it.

This grand final is going to be a disaster for us.

There's going to be a parade, and the stadium is going to be filled to capacity.

Absolute insanity.

Then again, Delta is going to come to Perth sooner or later so at least we'll be ready for it I suppose.

All those panic buyers out there should stock up on toilet paper just before the grand final, because a week or two after the extremely boring game we're going into lock-down. Nothing surer.

Interestingly, I heard that Eddie McGuire isn't allowed to come to Perth for the grand final.

Not sure why, but it seems weird.

Maybe he's an anti-vaxxer   Undecided

Josh Frydenberg warns WA Delta will seep across its borders ‘within a week or a month’

Quote:
Josh Frydenberg has warned WA that Delta will inevitably seep across its borders soon — ‘whether it’s a week or whether it’s a month’ — and the State better be prepared.

Quote:
Mark McGowan has accused the Federal Government of being “on a mission” to infect Western Australians with COVID.

Yep, sure sounds like that to me (and probably most West Australians as well). Probably just so Scotty from Marketing and his 'puppet' Gladys in NSW can say "I told you so...".

Quote:
“If the borders remain shut and if all states don’t follow the plan, jobs will be lost, businesses will close, the wellbeing of Australians will suffer, our debt burden will increase and our recovery will be slowed,” Mr Frydenberg said.

Hello???? What's happening in NSW and Victoria at the moment with their out of control Covid cases and deaths? Oh, that's right... small businesses don't matter as long as the Liberals' big business mates can 'flourish'.

Can't wait for the Federal election so we can finally bounce these Liberal (money before lives) muppets out on their ears as they so richly deserve.
