Whether it goes ahead or not, I'm not going (despite having tickets).

I decided that weeks ago.

I don't wanna be in a stadium with who knows how many anti-vaxxers and anti-mask morons.

Yep.

Despite having two shots of Pfizer Comirnaty in me, I'm laying low that weekend.

I don't trust anyone.

Plus, metal objects keep sticking to me when I get close to 5G towers.

Watch out for those weaponised 5G bats, Greg... probably more dangerous than swooping magpies at this time of year. Shocked

Where's Sir Nail? I'm surprised he hasn't been on to this already. Cheesy Cheesy Grin

And, what do we have here?

Plane load of detainees from Sydney's COVID-19 red zone flown to Western Australia

Quote:
While the ABC has been told a plane load of Villawood detention centre detainees and guards had been moved from Sydney's COVID-19 red zone to Western Australia in an early-morning operation, Australian Border Force will not say why.

Quote:
The ABC understands the group boarded a large passenger jet, which later stopped in Melbourne to pick up another detainee.

By then, there were 72 detainees and guards on board.

"For each detainee, we had two other officers that were assigned to us," Mr Basa said.

"So, although we were secured, we still had to have two other officers sitting either side of us and [we were] handcuffed the entire time, for over 17 hours."

Upon arrival in Perth, Mr Basa said he was swabbed before being taken into a quarantine facility inside the Yongah Hill detention centre at Northam, which is just under 100km north-east of Perth.

He said he was still in the dark as to why he and the others had been moved across the country.

Yet another gamble with Covid... which up until now has 'won' nearly every time - here in Australia and worldwide.

Been reading rumours that the Federal government needs Villawood emptied for refugees coming from Afghanistan... no-one knows at this stage.

And...

Quote:
The Premier of Western Australia, Mark McGowan, said he was not told about the transfer.

Quote:
Northam Shire President Chris Antonio said he was angry not to have been told about the detainee transfer.

I'll bet Mark is pretty angry as well.

Hope there's an explanation coming... and soon.

Well if you want to force everyone to learn to live with it as soon as possible and "reopen"as soon as possible, whilst dealing with states not following that program, just find as many ways possible to increase the chances of "accidentally" infecting the recalcitrant states. Wink

A Victorian woman slapped with a suspended jail term and criminal record for having a picnic with her dying father while subject to quarantine rules has won an appeal to have her sentence reduced.

A Victorian woman slapped with a suspended jail term and criminal record for having a picnic with her dying father while subject to quarantine rules has won an appeal to have her sentence reduced.

“The appellant was 49 years of age at the time of the offending, with outstanding antecedents, and she lawfully entered Western Australia after making all necessary inquiries and applications to enter with permission to visit her dying elderly father,” he said.

“The appellant understood that she was permitted to visit her father at the hospital. That was so until her father, a patient in palliative care, was transferred to the second hospital.

“The appellant had a negative COVID-19 test result on day two of her self-quarantine ... [and] was actively meeting her obligations.”

The woman is the fourth person to successfully appeal their jail sentence for breaching quarantine laws in WA.

So if you are not up go speed on the arcane rules - you are ok with the rules until we move your dad to another hospital, and then you are no longer ok - you get sentenced to jail time  which you can, for now and in our infinite mercy, appeal.

The WA CMO, like Allah, is all-knowing, merciful.

And, if that doesn't get WA to join 'Covid Club Australia' then the AFL just might.

AFL grand final: Perth parade touted as part of WA’s pitch to bring football showpiece to Optus Stadium

Quote:
A grand final parade through the Perth CBD has formed part of WA’s official pitch to secure the AFL showpiece.

The league has drawn up contingency plans to move the game from its traditional home in Victoria amid the substantial pandemic crisis playing out on Australia’s east coast as we near the finals period.

WA is one government asked by AFL powerbrokers to pitch for the decider, given the likelihood it will be moved away from Melbourne where a COVID curfew is in place until at least September 2.

This has placed Perth’s Optus Stadium in a prime position to host the big match, and even a “festival” of finals football over multiple weekends, according to The West Australian.

The WA Government’s pitch is also said to have touted St Georges Terrace as a potential host for a spectacular Melbourne-like grand final parade.

Morons.

Here's the front page of today's West Australian.

"IT MAY BE MORE THAN GRAND FINAL COMING TO WA"

They've got that right... Covid could be coming as well and before you know it we'll be just like New South Wales and Victoria.

Even though I have tickets for it, I hope McGowan cancels the Bledisloe Cup scheduled for Saturday week.

I'll be pretty disappointed with him if he doesn't.

Its been cancelled (by New Zealand).

Rugby Australia blindsided after New Zealand pulls out of third Bledisloe Cup Test in Perth because of COVID-19

Quote:
Rugby Australia (RA) claims it has been blindsided by New Zealand Rugby's (NZR) decision not to send the All Blacks to Perth to play the third Bledisloe Cup Test.

The Rugby Championship fixture, scheduled for August 28, was thrown into chaos by New Zealand's announcement on Friday, which RA called a "unilateral decision".

The All Blacks were initially scheduled to fly to Perth on Sunday in preparation for the Test.

But with New Zealand in lockdown with rising COVID-19 cases and the uncertainty around the schedule, NZR decided not to send the All Blacks squad.

Quote:
RA said it would work through alternative dates for the match to still be played in Perth, with close to 60,000 tickets already sold for the match.

It is believed the West Australian government was set to allow the All Blacks into the state, provided they arrived seven days before the match and completed "soft" quarantine, as interstate AFL teams currently do.

"Soft quarantine"? WTF? Even 14 days probably isn't long enough from what we've seen since the start of the pandemic, thank goodness its been cancelled.

Now all we need to worry about is the AFL.

Wonder what will happen if we have another Covid outbreak and lockdown just before the Grand Final?

Will the game be played in an empty Optus Stadium?

At least you can't catch Covid from watching the game on TV, can you? Oh, wait... the 5G conspiracy nutters might be on to that soon if they're not already.

"Covid mind control signals are being beamed directly into your living room via your TV" Cheesy Cheesy

Probably, yeah.

Still not good though.

We don't want the teams and their entourages from the east coming here.

It's absolute madness.

Actually, no.

That dill, Gill, said he won't hold a grand final without a crowd.

Just cancel the bloody thing already then.

FFS, it's just a game.
