Yep, got off lightly again but our "luck" will run out sooner or later.
I'm sitting here wondering who's on all the planes that have been going over us and landing at Perth Airport when the whole city is in lockdown? More Covid cases arriving?
They're using the shorter cross runway from 8am to about 3 or 4pm like they usually do every second Friday while they do maintenance on the main runway.
FIFO is still at a standstill today and even if it wasn't most of the planes are the large ones that wouldn't be used for FIFO anyway. Freight perhaps? Maybe a few but not all.
Speaking of planes, I hope amongst all the changes announced at the National Cabinet meeting today something is being done about this:
Pandemic no barrier to private jet arrivals in Australia Quote:The COVID-19 pandemic has not stopped the rich and famous from coming to Australia by private jet – at least 113 private international flights have landed since April last year, mostly from the United States.
Passengers on private jets include celebrities and other wealthy individuals, business executives on corporate trips and sporting teams such as the charter plane for contestants, families and staff in the World Surf League in March.
Quote:But the busiest airport for arrivals was Bunbury Airport in Western Australia, with 22 flights - all from the US and all this month.
Too scared to land and be seen at Perth Airport because of the extremely likely and well deserved outrage, eh?
As we've said before (many times)... one rule for "them" and another for the rest of us.
