I think we've lost her. Cry

But, I suppose in all fairness, as a Victorian she has been subject to the worst Covid lockdowns and restrictions seen in Australia so far which was bound to have adverse effects on people sooner or later.

Turning to the "dark side" of conspiracy theories could be the 'last straw' for a lot of Victorians.

Don't want to upset you further Lols but I see the AFL now wants to move all the football to Victoria from now to avoid the lockdowns in other States and even play games 6 days a week to make sure they finish the season on time. Which is the exact opposite to last year when Melbourne couldn't even host the Grand Final.

Hope they don't bring Covid with them.

And, even more good news - Daniel Andrews is back on the job and I'm sure he will make certain he looks after everyone in Victoria just like he did before his unfortunate accident earlier this year.

Just had to check if the mask wearing rules have changed here in Perth since yesterday (they haven't).

Walked up to the Kooyong Rd. shops and back (about 40 minutes in total) and in that time I saw 3 people on the street not wearing masks.

Didn't look like any of them qualified for a mask wearing exemption, especially the 30ish year old lady waiting at a bus stop. Hope she had one in her bag when the bus arrived or she'd be walking.

The lady living near us also saw several people not wearing masks when she was doing her shopping earlier.

Also saw 3 or 4 police cars driving around during my walk (may have been the same one or two). I wondered if they were checking to see if people were wearing masks because the only time we usually see (mostly hear) the police around our area is when they're chasing stolen cars or hoons. Roll Eyes

Coronavirus crisis: One new local coronavirus cases for WA, Premier Mark McGowan reveals

https://www.perthnow.com.au/news/coronavirus/coronavirus-crisis-one-new-local-co...

Quote:
WA has recorded one new locally acquired COVID-19 case overnight, raising the prospect of the Perth and Peel lockdown extending beyond Friday and into the school holidays.

The 37-year-old male attended a Joondalup gym at the same time as both the original case 1022 on Tuesday and case 1023 on Saturday.

Contact tracers have not yet determined when the man contracted the disease, but he is not believed to have spent time in the community while infectious.

If the lockdown is extended I'll probably have to stay in the house at all times. Not to protect myself from Covid but to avoid all the riots on the streets that won't be too far off.

I might have to pop down to the shops tomorrow morning and get a few more things before he announces an extension to the lockdown on Friday.

Come Friday afternoon, the idiots will have stripped the shelves bare of toilet paper and pasta   Grin

They still had quite a few toilet rolls at the Kooyong Rd. IGA when I went there a while ago same as they did yesterday (I combine my allowed 1 hour of exercise with a walk to the shops).

Not sure if they were the same ones that were there yesterday or the shelves had been restocked but the manager (Tony) has probably put a few packs of toilet rolls aside in his office or the storeroom for the regular 'oldies' who shop there, same as he's done in previous lockdowns.

Better check how much we have, might have to grab an extra pack if I go up there again tomorrow.

If we get at least one more positive case tomorrow and one on Friday, I reckon Mark will extend the lockdown for a week.

If he does that, people will go crazy with panic buying on Friday afternoon.

I still don't get why they do it though.

Things have been heating up a bit on Mark McGowan's Twitter account today.

I was rather amused by this reply. Well, I suppose if you're in lockdown you might as well practice your Photoshop skills. Cool

Raven was driving behind a police car, fourcops in it and not one wearing a mask.

You can only drive maskless with people from your own household. Good to see WA police upholding community safety.

I just went to Aldi.

Woman in front of me didn't sign in and didn't wash her hands.

Saw her later on in the store carrying a massive pack of toilet paper rolls.

Buggered if I can figure out the panic-buyers' reasoning.
