Here we go again.

Perth and Peel to enter a 4 day lockdown (at least) from midnight tonight.

Just as well I didn't have anything special planned for the rest of this week. Roll Eyes

We all saw this coming.

Oh well, four days at home will be nice.

True.

I feel sorry for the business owners and workers who lose money - that goes without saying.

But I actually don't mind a short lockdown - I get a lot done around the house.

Same here. I know a couple of small business owners (one of them I used to work for) and their employees who won't be very happy at the moment, same as all small business owners.

But, my elderly aunt and I don't mind staying home for a few days with the wet weather we're having right now although it is supposed to clear up later.

Just be careful
A house may appear 2 be a safe space but there are many hazards

I hope that you have appropriate signage near your shower
Warning of the risks of slipping on a wet floor

Remember that when eating there is always the possibility of choking
Your alternatives are to not eat
Or to have a carer standing behind you at all times ready to carry out the Heimlich maneuver

With so many Australians now being bedwetters
And winter being upon us
The use of electric blankets is potentially deadly

Finally if reading in bed
Be aware that if the page was to give you a nasty papercut
Tetanus could occur
Take a nail file and smooth off the edges of all pages before reading

One can't be too careful
And you can't put a price on human life

Yep.

It's a great day to stay inside.

Very wintery out there at the moment.

I'll tackle a few work emails, restring a couple of guitars, and catch up on some Netflix.

The Heimlich manoeuvre is discouraged by just about every medical organisation and professional in the country.

It's never been used in Australia, as it's extremely dangerous and not very effective.

If Americans (I'm looking at you Mrs Doubtfire) wanna do that crap good luck to them, but don't promote it here.

Can you tell us what the price is for getting you to stop posting rubbish like this?

Just a 'ballpark' figure would be OK for now. Thanks in advance (just running off for a minute to check my wallet) .Roll Eyes

Okaaay…. If they’re telling us what not to do when someone is choking…. Then what do we do instead?

I was watching a restaurant video footage a couple weeks ago incidentally… of a worker  that was stacking chairs. It showed he was eating something and started to choke. Looking around desperately and no one about, hitting his chest, getting frantic, he got a chair and started to fall on his chest area against the chair, after a few unsuccessful attempts he finally dislodged the stuck food.

Can you give us the ballpark figure for the number of Australians currently on ventilators for treatment of kovid

I'll give you a hint

It's a number less than 1

Sounds like it's very rational to have the entire country in panic mode Roll Eyes

I'll give you a hint - "Stay Tuned".

I hope I'm wrong but with winter and the Covid outbreaks all around Australia at the moment I predict we might be in for a rough time over the next few months.

The value of doing a 1st aid course. IMO they should be compulsory.

Definitely recommended to do. And I wish it were compulsory.
I did do a level 2 first aid course with St. John’s Ambulance many years ago.
So much has changed since. Might do another updated one soon.
