Happens every day, in every state.

ah, so you support employers paying Indian workers below award rates. well, well, well.  Smiley

Nope.

Despite my protests, it happens every day in every state.

Again, not sure where you got the idea I support it.

Nope.

You're confusing me with someone else.

I'd never defend those scumbag employers.

But you are Blanche, you are.

Heres something else I bet you know and covertly defend, even though the government is paying 40 percent more for the contracts on the basis that the guards employed do not take other employment not one guard on those contracts is receiving any more remuneration than previous, it is all going to the contractors. and many guards still have multiple jobs because of this. Its a massive con trick aided and abetted by people like you.
Now we have an inkling of why you find it difficult to sleep at night.

Nope.

Stating a fact doesn't mean I support it.

Wait until your hangover wears off, and read the thread again - you'll hopefully see where you went so horribly wrong.

too late, everyone can see this thread and your defense of the companies underpaying Indian guards because "it happens in every state".

No masks, crowd limits as WA eases rules

https://thewest.com.au/news/coronavirus/no-masks-crowd-limits-as-wa-eases-rules-...

Quote:
Western Australia will welcome back capacity crowds and no longer require the wearing of face masks under a further easing of coronavirus restrictions.

From 1201am on Saturday, Perth and the neighbouring Peel region will return to the conditions that existed prior to the Anzac Day weekend lockdown.

Face masks will only be required at the airport and there will no longer be limits on attendees at weddings and funerals.

Major venues including the 60,000-seat Optus Stadium will return to being able to host 100 per cent capacity crowds.

Just in time for the footy this weekend. Roll Eyes Mind you, I would love to have seen how the enforcing of mask wearing (and social distancing) for up to 60,000 spectators would have been achieved. Impossible would be my guess.

All back to normal here in Perth again. Until the next hotel quarantine Covid outbreak, of course.

Ah, just in time for the upcoming WA Day long weekend. What a surprise.  Roll Eyes

Crewman tests positive for COVID on board ship docked off WA coast

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-06-01/covid-incident-emerging-at-kwinana-port-i...

Quote:
A crew member from a freight ship docked at Kwinana Bulk Jetty in Western Australia has tested positive for coronavirus.
The man, believed to be the cook on the ship Allegra, was removed from the vessel and taken away by ambulance under police escort at 8:00pm last night from the terminal in Perth's south.

WA Premier Mark McGowan said the man was aged in his 20s and was now in hotel quarantine.

He said the crew member was initially taken off the ship on Sunday when he became unwell.

Next Covid outbreak could be due here in Perth before the end of the week so we're locked down for another long weekend.

Wonder if everyone's getting their caravans, etc. ready to flee to the South West before another lockdown like what happened during our ANZAC Day long weekend lockdown?

And, Perth is getting their first planeload of "stranded Aussies" from India arriving tomorrow.

COVID-19: First repatriation flight from India to Perth to touchdown on Wednesday

https://thewest.com.au/news/coronavirus/covid-19-first-repatriation-flight-from-...

Subscriber only article again but I've read it in today's West. The plane will be arriving tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday) and all of these "returned travellers" will be transported to a Perth City hotel (The Westin) for quarantine. They have all been *allegedly* checked for Covid before boarding the plane in India but we've seen how well that *doesn't* work a few times already.

Is it too early to ask that question again? But, whatever happens I'm sure the footy at Optus Stadium on Saturday night will go ahead as planned, Covid outbreak or not. Roll Eyes

And... here we go again.

WA coronavirus transmission reported in hotel quarantine after man infected by guest in next door room

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-06-01/wa-coronavirus-case-got-virus-in-hotel-qu...

Quote:
Another person has been infected with COVID-19 while staying in a Perth quarantine hotel and authorities are urgently investigating how it took place.
The Health Department confirmed the virus was transmitted between two guests in neighbouring rooms at the Pan Pacific Hotel.

Genome sequencing data confirmed they had the same sequence of virus.

It is not yet known how transmission occurred.

Unbelievable that some people are getting paid lots of money for this ongoing sheer level of incompetence.

Stand by for another Perth lockdown in 5... 4... 3... 2...

Oh, and:

Its transmitted through the air, i.e. aiconditioning system in the hotels, you morons.

Im not entirely sure of that. Not saying its not possible but I just dont believe thats the obvious cause of transmission.

Very difficult to prove but it is a definite possibility. Trouble is, most of these quarantine hotels are quite old. The Pan Pacific (formerly the Sheraton Perth) is nearly 50 years old - I actually watched it being built when I was a kid and lived in the flats on Terrace Road, it officially opened in January 1973 from memory.

No doubt a lot of upgrades have been done over the years but I'm sure most of the original ducting is still there and, like all of these hotels being used for quarantine, the air conditioning systems were never designed and could probably never be modified (without spending a lot of money) for quarantine purposes.

Well, one potential Covid problem has been resolved, at least. The crewmember on that ship has now tested negative.

This is a big problem and possibly responsible for most or all of the quarantine Covid outbreaks we're having in Australia lately.

WA Health taking cautious approach to 'moderately positive' COVID case who spent a day in the community

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-06-06/wa-health-cautious-to-positive-covid-case...

Quote:
A man has returned a "moderately positive" COVID-19 test result, one day after finishing 14 days in a Perth quarantine hotel.
Western Australia's Chief Health Officer Dr Andy Robertson said the man, who had travelled to Perth from Colombia via the United States, returned a negative result on his day-10 of quarantine and was therefore able to leave on Friday, when his two weeks were complete.
Dr Robertson said the man, who is a maritime worker, was required by his employer to be tested for the virus, which he did after leaving the hotel and has since returned the "moderately positive" result.

Conclusion: As some have said over the past 12 months -14 days quarantine is not long enough and needs to be extended by at least another week.
