Thanks to smacking idiots who refuse to wear masks, social distance, and obey lock-down orders.

PM warns social media can be 'used by the evil one', in speech to Christian conference

"The Evil One"? Is that Mark McGowan? Anthony Albanese? Anyone who doesn't agree with him?

Yes, once a politician evokes religious imagery via his (feigned or sincere) religiosity (particularly evoking god(s)/good over demon(s)/evil), you know it's time to watch out...

He risks putting himself in the service of 'evil' to justify his alarm.

He's also a politician and is bound to sometimes choose the best of the worst options... Like defending the behavior of powerful colleagues to whom he owes a debt.

Try telling that to places like the US, the UK, Italy and now India. They've had a really bad flu season. Two in a row, actually.

aquascoot has spent the last 12 months telling everyone that C19 is a hoax, and that the numbers have been made up by the media and politicians, but now he wants to push old people out of the queue so that he can be the first to get vaccinated.

What a smacking idiot.

I think the smacking idiot
Is someone such as yourself
Who demands that young people never be allowed to have a decent life
But also paradoxically demands the right not to be vaccinated
Thereby meaning that the only way to keep a fool such as yourself safe
Is for the younger generations to give up their liberties
So you can sit in your backyard sipping your Chardonnay in safety

How very very selfish
You should be ashamed of yourself

Incorrect North incorrect

Whilst I still consider the virus a non species ending event
And something which should never have been catastrophized

The major devastation of the virus
Is due to the extreme overreaction of those in authority
Who have created ridiculous concepts such as fortress western Australia

We are now in the situation where if we are going to rescue young people
And allow them to have a decent future
We are all going to have to man up and get vaccinated

Not to save us from the devastating effect of a mild respiratory virus

But to save us from the devastating effect of having to continue with this nonsense of devoting every thought breath word and action to covid.

We should have just said this is going to be a bad flu season

We didn't and instead we have convinced people that the end of the world is upon us
Having gone down that ridiculous rabbit hole
The only way out is for everyone to now become vaccinated

So we have to do this for future generations

The main issue with this virus is its apparent ability to rapidly mutate into more infectious and more deadly variants.

I assume your reference to 'those in authority' include virologists, medics and clinicians in general - i.e. professionals who have spent their respective entire careers studying pathogens and/or working within the health industry.

Are you actually qualified to contradict their opinion?

Without denigration, why do you think the nation should take the advice of a barely educated farmer over the advice of these professionals?

Should, say, Indians stop worrying and get back to worshipping in their millions in confined places?

As I pointed out to Bobby in my excellent Post
Even with covod ravaging the Indian society
The number of people dying every day in India from cardiovascular disease
Is still three times the number of people dying from covert

It is far from a species ending event

As for people being vaccinated

Isn't that what all the cowards hiding under their bed were screaming about for the last 12 months
And now that the vaccine is available
They don't want to have it because they prefer to stay at home and sit there Chardonnay and read their books
And they don't give a stuff about people who want a resume an adventurous life

Are the Fremantle Dockers and West Australian eagles allowed to travel
Can young people go and enjoy a spectacle

If you speak to the old farts
They are happy to cancel such events in perpetuity
And they don't want to make the small sacrifice of having a vaccine so that people can start having some fun
They just want the premier to lock the stayed up forever

If not forever North then tell me
If everyone takes the Gregory peccary line and does not get vaccinated
When exactly do you think western Australia will be open for business

Reprehensible hypocritical people

No, the idiot is definitely you.

You spent 12 months telling everyone it's a hoax, and that the numbers are lies made up by the media and politicians, and now you're pushing over old people to get at the front of the vaccination queue.

How very selfish and hypocritical - you should be ashamed of yourself.

If the only way that young children can get to go and watch the Fremantle Dockers play is that I have to make the Noble sacrifice of having a vaccine
Then I shall make the Noble sacrifice of having a vaccine
Because unlike you
I care about the mental health of young people

As for knocking over old people in a desperate attempt to get the vaccine
You really have lost the plot
I would say the major problem for the government now would be convincing people to have the vaccine
So that young people can again lead a life of freedom

Selfish people like you are too cowardly to have it
I am more than happy to have it despite the fact I don't think the the virus is a problem
If it'll put a smile on a teenager's face

I suppose there will be no schoolies for the young people of western Australia this year
Fortress western Australia will still be in place
Keeping selfish old people such as Gregory safe

Mediocre hypocritical reprehensible

Your excellent post? What... You're an 80's teen film star now?

Anyway, 'your excellency', you're not qualified to speak on the virulence of pathogens or actions we need to take, anymore than a teenage barista who's never stepped foot on a farm is qualified to give you advice on animal husbandry.... Even if they think they might have a thing for sheep.

And also the ones who STILL don't use the SafeWA app or a pen and paper register when shopping, etc.

Coronavirus WA: Many West Australians not using SafeWA app and QR codes while out shopping during lockdown

Yes, I've seen it myself while out shopping the past few days. Been happening since it became 'compulsory' a few months back.

(Its a subscriber only article but the story is obvious, I'll probably read it when I get today's West later on.

I'm usually the only one who signs in with the app when I go to Woollies etc.

Hardly anyone uses the hand sanitiser, cleans the basket handles, or signs in.

Bastards!

News conference in a few minutes.

(Four new cases in quarantine hotels overnight)

Oh, yes... and I suspect the people down south (especially in places like Margaret River) have had enough after this past long weekend with seemingly half of Perth's population fleeing down there to escape the lockdown.
