Well done, Mark McGowan. You idiot.
On a day where WA has recorded
13 deaths you announce that
masks will no longer be compulsory on public transport from next Friday.
And with that... our last remaining Covid protections are gone.
Quote:Premier Mark McGowan said the move was possible because of WA's "soft" COVID landing, and was based on the latest public health advice.
Soft COVID landing, my @ss. Try telling that to the families of the
594
people who have been killed by Covid since WA's border opened 6 months ago. Up until then WA had
9
Covid deaths in 2 years (and we wouldn't even have had those 9 deaths if the borders had been closed properly).
Public health advice? OK then - let's see it. More like business advice as usual, I'll bet.
Try telling the truth for once, I know it must be hard - just like it is for all politicians but at least try.
Quote:WA Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said easing the mask mandate on pubic transport was a sensible way forward, but people could still wear masks if they chose to.
Quote:"Members of the community who want to continue to wear masks, of course they can, and they should if they feel they want to," she said.
"Just as when you are going to the shops and some people are wearing masks and some people who don't … it's very much going to be a community choice.
Stop it, Rita - my sides are aching from laughter... you're talking about that "Personal Responsibility" again.

I feel like sending her an email about the "personal responsibilty" I witnessed on a Transperth bus today with 3 clowns chatting away... 2 had their 'baggy blue' masks under their chins and the third wasn't wearing a mask at all.
But I guess the government needed to find a sure way to infect those sneaky oldies and other vulnerable members of the community who have managed to avoid Covid so far but have to use public transport to get where they need to go... you know... places like doctors and hospitals.
Is this something Mark agreed to at the 'Secret Squirrel' National Cabinet meeting that's just been held?
Hope Mark's got something planned for when he's finished in politics (which will be the next WA State election - that's almost guaranteed).
Just wondering which one is Mark in this leaked picture of the latest 'Secret Squirrel' meeting?
