I have not heard any increase in ambulance services where I live (near a main  road leading to Flinders Medical Centre.)

Have seen some dash cam videos of idiots on those scooters tho.

I'd be happy to bet on that happening as well.

Yep, I reckon he will.

I certainly hope he does.

I'm doing the right thing - I'd like to see others doing it too.

My elderly aunt and I have never stopped wearing masks whenever we go out (which isn't very often lately).

I'll also feel a bit better tomorrow morning when I take my aunt up to the Belmont Seniors Centre to get her hair done like I do every Wednesday (except for 2 weeks back when the hairdresser had Covid) because I've finally convinced my aunt to wear a KN95 mask instead of the surgical blue/white ones.

She tried wearing a KN95 a few weeks back but she didn't like it compared to the surgical ones. I told her if she won't wear a KN95 then I'm not taking her there tomorrow so she finally agreed (narrowly avoided an argument there... lol).

She also walks across to Belmont Forum with one of the other ladies after having their hair done to have a look around before I pick her up at 11am and it's imperative she wears a KN95 there... I keep reminding her that her GP told her a few weeks back that shopping centres are one of the most risky places for getting Covid at the moment.

Classic Sandy Stone.

We cringed then, we cringe now.

Actually, I really need to make a correction to that earlier post.

Some have suggested that instead of calling masks, social distancing and capacity limits at venues, etc. Covid restrictions they should really be called Covid protections.

I certainly agree.

Then there might be a chance that a lot of the idiots screaming about their "freedumb" might think twice about criticizing these Covid protections.

Maybe.

Shouldn't be too long before those stupid things are banned here in Australia like they already have been in quite a few places overseas.

Wouldn't be too bad if people rode them properly and obeyed the law but anyone with half a brain would have known that was never going to happen.

Another 16,253 cases, 327 in hospital, 12 in ICU and 3 more *historic* deaths for WA today.

Good to see more and more people are 'wising up' and wearing masks when I was at Belmont Forum earlier.

Perhaps the word is slowly getting through to people that being infected with a brain shrinking, heart damaging, long Covid and who knows whatever other health issues causing bat virus isn't such a good idea after all. Especially when you can get reinfected over and over.

I'm still betting on masks and other Covid *PROTECTIONS* coming back next week after the Federal election is over.

Not Covid this time but monkeypox.

These two never miss an opportunity to get stuck into Basil Zempilas (especially Lotus).

I had to laugh when Basil replied with the black cat.  Grin

12,114 cases and
6
more *historical* deaths for WA.

https://twitter.com/MarkMcGowanMP/status/1528919000012316674

Why does WA only have *historical* deaths?

Because we've had
0
deaths for the past 2 days some believe it's to try and make the deaths look better by 'saving them up' for a few days and then 'hitting us with them' all in one day.

Sounds stupid to me but we are dealing with government here.  Roll Eyes

Come on, Mark McGowan - Federal election's over and Labor won, you can bring the mandatory masks indoors and capacity limits at venues back now.

Just leave it a few more days if you like (perhaps until the weekend or the start of next week) so it doesn't look quite so obvious that you dropped the masks and other Covid restrictions *protections* just for the election.

Go on... you can do it!

I was asking about this a few weeks ago and here's the answer:

Question marks over what to do with $200m Bullsbrook ‘Centre for National Resilience’ quarantine facility

Quote:
A Commonwealth-funded $200 million quarantine facility in Perth’s north looms as an expensive white elephant with Premier Mark McGowan admitting he is unsure what to do with the compound once construction is complete in the middle of the year.

Announced last August — well over a year into the COVID pandemic — the Bullsbrook “Centre for National Resilience” was intended to largely replace a network of CBD hotels used to quarantine returning interstate and international travellers.

What a colossal waste of 200 million dollars - just like Annastacia's "Wellcamp" facility in Queensland.

Quote:
What to do with it, that is the $64 million question,” he said.

“Maybe there is some use we can put it to outside of a pandemic or a disaster (but we haven’t quite landed on what that is yet.

“We’re seeking feedback from people as to what it can be used for.”

“It’s not in the heart of the city. So you know, in terms of backpackers or something, it can’t really be used for that.

“It’s out in Bullsbrook near RAAF Base Pearce so we’re trying to think what else can be done with it.

Oh, gee... think hard, Mark. Roll Eyes

Here, I'll give you a one word clue - MONKEYPOX.

But, by the time this thing is completed Monkeypox will probably be spreading throughout the WA population if it isn't already.

How far is it from the CBD? Make it public housing?

Bullsbrook is about 42km from the Perth CBD.

Should send all of the pollies there (of both major parties), lock them up and throw away the key.

12,419 new cases today and 2 more *historic* deaths.

https://twitter.com/MarkMcGowanMP/status/1529282057712521216

STILL not allowing replies, I see. That's OK, Mark - we all know you stuffed up badly just like the other States did. Worst part is - most of us knew this would happen.

Oh, I noticed that idiot Basil Zempilas got a bit excited yesterday about Monday's Covid cases.

https://twitter.com/BasilZempilas/status/1528855597663535104

Now they're trending up again... got anything to say now, Basil?  Roll Eyes

And, not surprisingly, no word from The West Australian about cases (and deaths) trending up again.

This is the sort of garbage I would expect from the Murdoch/Stokes gutter media but certainly not from the ABC.

Modelling predicts Western Australia's COVID-19 cases will keep falling as state enters home stretch of Omicron outbreak

"Home stretch"? Freaking unbelievable. Especially with winter here and the flu 'on the loose' once again after a welcome 2 year respite due to Covid border closures and masks, etc.

All the "modelling" done with Covid has been completely WRONG for the past two years so why would anyone expect it to be correct now?

Might want to have a quick look at this, Mark McGowan and Co., especially Amber-Jade Sanderson, our so called Minister for Health who apparently has been more involved in hospitality and business than health in the past. Colour me surprised.

BA.2.12.1 and BA.4/BA.5 characterized in human lung cells and an experimental model by @SystemsVirology

—All 3 Omicron subvariants have enhanced replication in lung cells compared w/ BA.2
—BA.4/5 is more pathogenic than BA.2 in animal model

And, I'm still waiting for our first monkeypox cases to be reported here in Perth. Won't be long now...

Is there a point to your question? Looks to me like you're trying to put a 'smokescreen' over the issue. Once again.

However, the answer is yes. And we're both wearing KN95 masks whenever we do and we stay as far away from the maskless lemmings as we can.
