Thanks, Greg.
Actually, I may even go back to voting for the 'Informal Party' like I used to do many years ago.
Meanwhile, the WA Covid deaths and cases continue to climb.
https://twitter.com/7perth/status/1519170167431110656 Quote:Western Australia has now recorded 129 COVID-19 deaths in 2022. Modelling released in February predicted 129 deaths over 180 days. WA has achieved this after just 64 days, some 116 days sooner than expected.
So much for the "modelling" (which in itself was completely unacceptable to me and many others, I'm sure).
No wonder Mark McGowan has disabled replies for 'his' daily Covid reports on Twitter for the past week.
Also, one has to wonder how many deaths are occurring at home seeing as New South Wales is the only State releasing this information at the moment. Sort of.
Most health departments not tracking COVID home deaths Only one state health department publicly releases the number of COVID deaths that occur in the home, with the majority limiting information to hospital fatalities. Quote:Aged care deaths – which have risen sharply in 2022 – are also tallied weekly to provide a more complete and transparent view of the situation.
But as it stands, only one health department in the country – New South Wales – is publicly releasing the number of COVID deaths that have occurred in the home – albeit in an inconsistent fashion with a lag of at least five days.
All other states and territories either do not track the information (ACT, South Australia, Northern Territory, Western Australia, Queensland) or do not release it publicly (Tasmania) due to patient privacy concerns. Victoria, meanwhile, responded to a newsGP query by stating that its data team would need ‘several days’ to look into the information request but never provided a figure.
As a consequence, there is no way of knowing how many people are dying at home due to COVID, potentially without access to the type of care they need.
Shocking.
