Excuse I, Aquascoot, how many influenza deaths were there in 2018?

Looks like he's gone.

Must have gone off to consult Dr. Google (and Zuby again, of course).

Perfectly understandable. It's always wise to read Zuby once you've made up your mind.

Bonus thought: 21/ Most people are fairly compassionate and have good intentions (this is good)
As a result, most people deeply struggle to understand that some people, including our 'leaders', CAN have malicious or perverse intentions (this is bad).

Was listening to ABC talkback radio this morning and some WA health professionals reckon the state of dysfunction and overload in WA WITHOUT Covid is about how NSW is coping in the peak of the Omicron outbreak.

The real reason WA can't open up is it has the worst health system in Australia.

Tell the truth, McGowen!!!

Western Australia has the lowest number of intensive care unit (ICU) beds on a per capita basis in the nation, with just six beds available for every 100,000 people, according to a medical journal report.

New South Wales led the nation with 10.8 beds for every 100,000 people

Best wait until more than 90% of the population has had a third jab before opening up the borders then, don't you reckon?

Not really, Greggery, you'll probably need a 4th jab soon. I think it's best to keep these people out, don't you?

Cry me a river...

COVID-19: Glory, Lynx, Wildcats, Eagles, Dockers, Scorchers all scrambling after border blindside

Quote:
WA’s professional sports teams were left in shock and limbo on Thursday night after Premier Mark McGowan announced the February 5 border opening date would be delayed indefinitely.

As Perth Glory owner Tony Sage put it: “We’re f...ked.”

It lobbed a grenade at the 2022 AFL fixture, while the seasons of the summer teams have now descended into chaos -- with some fearing financial disaster should their home fixtures have to be scrapped.

Perth Wildcats, Perth Glory, Perth Lynx and the Fremantle and West Coast AFLW teams are on the east coast and had planned to return following the opening date for a glut of catch-up home games. Perth Scorchers are preparing for their 14th away game in a row on Saturday in a final against Sydney Sixers.

Players from all sports will be allowed back into the State, but the fact they will now need to serve 14 days quarantine on return to WA will cause havoc.

Nice to be living in a State that puts peoples' lives and health ahead of sport.

Quote:
McGowan offered no indication on how long the border could remain closed, but offered the AFL clubs a glimmer of hope when he hinted they may be able to negotiate further exemptions from the rules announced to allow travelling teams into Perth.

“Sport is not my number one priority,” the Premier said.

Thank you, Mark.  Smiley

Quote:
Former Glory captain Rostyn Griffiths, a West Australian who now plays for Melbourne City, labelled McGowan “an absolute f….n clown” on Twitter.

lol... and I'm sure Mark cares about that just as much as the rest of us do.  Grin Grin Grin

Another word for reality is

The truth

Another truth, we are not trying to eliminate death, just unnecessary death.

Just like you're not avoiding the forum, only the threads where your "England vs Scotland" bullshit blew up in your face.
