well the virus isnt going to be interested in the opinion of a beaureacrat politician.
its going to do what it wants to do.
so do you accept that in 6 months, or 1 year or 2 years, there will be community transmission and people being hospitalised and dying from covid or do you think "fortress WA" can continue indefinitely
"Fortress WA" can continue indefinitely as far as I (and most West Australians, I suspect) am concerned. Or, at least until the Covid pandemic is over.
The only danger to our "fortress" at this stage are mistakes like this:
Another one.
Coronavirus crisis: Full review underway after second PPE breach confirmed at Royal Perth Hospital
https://www.perthnow.com.au/news/coronavirus/coronavirus-crisis-full-review-unde... Quote:An investigation is under way after a second COVID breach occurred at Royal Perth Hospital yesterday.
A staff member caring for a COVID-positive patient removed their surgical mask before completely exiting a patient’s room.
The incident was detected immediately and the staff member was placed into self-quarantine.
Quote:It comes as a service lift at the same hospital was not appropriately cordoned off after it was used to transport the captain of the bulk-carrier MV AquaGenie from the emergency department to the intensive care unit.
Three staff members who were not wearing PPE used the lift prior to it being cleaned.
Mr Cook said the lift should have been cordoned off and the situation was continuing to be reviewed.
I sure hope our good luck with avoiding a major Covid outbreak continues but if things like this keep happening (and with winter approaching) I have my doubts.
