I have the Telstra Smart Modem but my wireless backup wont work because the mobile signal in my house is too weak....the light only ever goes yellow.

I'm only 3 klm as the crow flies from the CBD.

In my area it's FTTN and CTTC & house.

Possibly but the gains that were made after Labors plans should have seen it finished sooner. Like new tech to clear conduits. It still didn't held the NBN be sooner, cheaper and quicker as it's obviously not and we are still near the top of the world for internet access costs and speed. I have no doubt that Labors NBN would have saved us billions, do it once, do it right. Once fibre is rolled out the only limitation on speed is the transceivers at each end.

What the Libs did is the same as they tried to do to the SHB, how would that have worked out? Luckily Labor won that one. Libs seem to know the cost of everything but nothing of the 'value'.

And in 10 years we'll have wireless 6g at 95 Gbit/s and LoL at wires under the ground. Grin

That's the thing, we won't be.

Wireless has limitations that fibre doesn't, but also vice versa.

In Christchurch in NZ for example, fibre is a bad idea because of how often it's broken during earthquakes.
