Whataboutism

Whataboutism, also known as whataboutery, is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument.[1][2][3]

Whataboutism is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda.[4][5][6] When criticisms were leveled at the Soviet Union during the Cold War, the Soviet response would often be "What about ..." followed by instancing of an event or situation in the Western world.[7][8][9] According to Russian writer, chess grandmaster and political activist Garry Kasparov, it is a word that was coined to describe the frequent use of a rhetorical diversion by Soviet apologists and dictators, who would counter charges of their oppression, "massacres, gulags, and forced deportations" by invoking American slavery, racism, lynchings, etc.[10] Whataboutism has been used by other politicians and countries as well.

Valkie appears to suffer from this disease.  Whenever anybody mentions the evils of Christian Clergy or anything else for that matter, he asks questions about other topics, such as in this case, Muslims and Islam. Why?  I have no idea except it is typical behaviour of trolls.  Rather than condemn the behaviour under discussion as would anybody who wasn't a troll would do, he instead attempts to divert attention and attacks his group of de jour topics that he thinks will get a rise out of his readers.  It is silly and it is childish and it is what trolls do.  Tsk, tsk.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

The Catholic Church comes in for stick 'cause it has, for many years, attempted to hide from the truth - abuse has occurred at the hands of it's clergy members.   It has refused to admit this and when it is proven in court, it doesn't pay up. For many years the Church decided it was easier to make the victims suffer even further than make their clergy pay for their sins/crimes.   They bound their victims over for many years to silence as part of the deals they made with them.   Tsk, tsk, now it appears they are being caught.   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

If I had the predilection of a pedophile & were caught & charged for workplace offences similar to what these Priests have been charged......

I am 100% sure that my employers would not have been paying anything for my legal defence.

If you go back & read "reply 8" by Bwian ... you will see the Anglican church mentioned in a compo case for child abuse.

I'd suggest why he does it is because it highlights your double standards/hypocrisy in condemning  Christian churches for this illegal behaviour in it's ranks, yet say next to nothing about Islam whose tenets & Holy men actually condone it.

All you spout in response is Islamophobe dearie dearie  tsk tsk.

And the continual denial that Islam has perpetrated more pedophilia than any other collection of cult followers on earth.
I have no problem in bringing out and punishing the priests who have broken their solemn vows and abused children.
At least the church has finally recognized the horror for which it is responsible.
But islam relishes its ability to continue with its pedophilia marriages.

As for childish

Why mention Islam or Muslims at all in a thread devoted to Christian Clergy?

I’m not aware any branch of Christianity has spoken on the poisonous psychology of raising the young to believe its moral for a father (God) to torture his own son and how the worship of an almost naked man being tortured on the cross by his father is an dangerous way to instruct Christian youth.

This tedious effort to draw attention to the manifest evils of Islam as worse than the historic evils committed in the name of the Christian God in no way whitewashes anything the church has unleashed on the human race.
Most religion is red in tooth and claw.
There’s one aspect however of Islam I find more deluded than most of Christianity. It’s the contradictions rampant in the Koran. Take for instance the frequent juxtaposition of "In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful” immediately preceding passages such as Sura 47 V 1 & V 4 ”Whoso believe not, and prevent others from the way of God - their works will he cause to miscarry.
"When ye encounter the infidels, strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them, and of the rest make fast the fetters?

A most peculiar way to be compassionate and merciful.

Thus is a really stupid, juvenile way to (pretend to) see things. By your idiotic way of 'thinking', everything that happens is a direct, excusive act by god.

Nobody thinks that, not even you. So why pretend?

Its impossible to map the islamic pedophile marriage syndicate.

The parents even sell their children to dirty old imrans for their pleasure.

But i guess, Satans followers are exempt from being brought to justice because they are muzzos.
