When you read the premise for this show it feels likes it's going to either be a rip-off of Eastbound and Down or just saccharine-sweet American rubbish.

(no spoilers here) Wealthy socialite gains control of her ex-husbands' premier league soccer team post-divorce and hires a small-time college NFL coach who doesn't even know the rules of soccer with the hope of running the team into the ground.

The problem is the coach is actually pretty good, and nice, in a hokey mid-west kind of way, but somehow the writers have made this work. Anyone with a bit of a nasty edge actually confronts their behavior and you get to see their issues and vulnerabilities. All I can say is its nice TV done well, and it's a bit like the big warm hug we all need towards the end of this appalling year.

Apple TV which sucks a big fat one, luckily I was able to watch at a friend's house cost-free (excluding a 6 pack of Stone & Wood Pacific Ale).
