Watch for Share market bounce on Wednesday?

My guess is that the market will react favourably to Tuesday's Budget. What with all that massive amount of money being sprayed around.

...

...

Probably quite a nice bounce on Wednesday.

Bugga!  Angry
We got Trumped.  Sad

He stalled the US stimulus package negotiations so the US market tanked.

We usually slavishly follow the US market lead, so our market is not performing as well as I had hoped. Still, it is up a little so the budget has helped counteract the bad news from the US a fair bit.

On a brighter note, markets - both here and the U.S - seem to be responding well to the November election result...that and the fortuitous timing of the vaccine efficacy announcements.

Hopefully (very hopefully  Roll Eyes ) Trump will give a gracious concession speech in the next little while, and markets will respond even more favourably.

Perhaps a bridge too far...

He'll never give a gracious speech, let alone a gracious concession speech.

He'll go to his grave claiming that he beat Biden.

The promise of stimulus spending in the US and Pfizer's vaccine are what's boosting the share market

It's not until the stimulus is no longer needed, and the vaccine is shown to work in the broader population that you can have confidence in a brighter investment future

But there'll need to be solid private investment across the board before risk is lowered somewhat, investing in the stockmarket

There's a natural business cycle heading our way, it's called "Roaring Twenties Mk2", but it's going to be subdued because of regulations and climate change goings on. A lot of investors will get stung if they don't know what they're doing

Interest rates, inflation and our dollar, all most likely will rise, and start to wipe out our mega debt, but where will that leave mortgage holders?

Hope for the best, expect the worst. It could all coming crashing down by the end of the decade if it's not properly managed
