Sounds like a pretty murky case with mental illness thrown in to boot. I think you'd have to read the original sentence and the appeal judgment to get a good handle on whether the Appeal Court went wrong.

Yes I do think that there is defiantly a bias in the law against men, both when it comes to findings of guilt and certainly when it comes to sentencing. But whether the judgment was out of kilter with what a white woman would have received, I'm not so sure.

Yeah - but every ad or putsch or program or initiative is directed against men who kill their children - the ones in the very large minority... most children are abused and killed by women who are caring for them... that's the truth.

I can relate to that - I had a mad mother who once stabbed me in the back with a roast carving fork - one of those big ones with long prongs.... and not one word of remorse or even startlement.... nothing - just another intrusion into her insane inner world and gone as quickly as it happened....

Of course, both 'parents' would have been happy if we'd all just died from starvation and neglect etc... I cannot still bring myself to write the book... fiction is so much easier... and I can assure you I've done more in this lifetime than any of you.... goes to show that the early times still affect you... maybe drive you to massive over-achieving...

P.S. Jesus - I would have taken those kids if she didn't want them... they'd have loved it here... Cry

Her husband was murdered and she was raped. She was in depression after the 3rd child. SHe does psychiatric help, but then after 14 years shes likely to be deported.

I remember having it post natal all I did was cry i couldnt stop it lucky for me it didnt last long but for some they just dont get over it...our hormones are shot to pieces.for 9 months then our body has no choice but to give up something it has been protecting for 9 months.. just like that..each person is different and respond differently....what this lady needed was more help...we just do not give mums quality help...

dont forget gordy she has to live the rest of her life with what she did....

to be honest I couldnt read it all.. these stories break my heart and then they put the pictures of the babies in and thats all I remember for a long time.....for all we know she could have been very very lonely...I am not sure they do facebook or meet up with other mums its all too awful for a country like ours...

we must do better. a whole lot better
