I agree with the Californian Governor that it is Climate Change.

Climate change happens all the time on this Earth, from day dot when the Earth was a rocky ball of molten lava up until today’s world and on to the end in about 5 billion years from now.

Our sun will consume all of its helium and start to smash hydrogen atoms to keep the nuclear fusion process going, then the sun will become a red giant (Krypton and Kal Al) style, the Earth will dissolve as the red giant grows and its periphery touches the Earth, the atmosphere will be long gone before that happens.

While the Earth will vanish in 5 billion years, it is estimated that all life on Earth will cease in about 1 billion years due to the natural climate change of the Earth.
Climate change is a natural phenomenon as certain parameters change so then does the climate.

We have warmed approximately 0.7˚C since 1850, coming out of the little ice age.

Recent global climate change events,

1.      The medieval warm period – (900-1300 AD) – Vikings colonize Greenland

2.      The little ice age                    -(1300-1850 AD) – Vikings leave Greenland, no more Greenland

The Earth cools and warms in cycles, we have been warming up since 1850 when the little ice age finished and the Earth started to warm, the arctic has been melting ever since.

While Anthropogenic Global warming does play a minor role in the warming of the Earth it is so small that it can be lost in the correction factor.

There are many factors that come into play for the warming to be solely attributed to mankind’s CO2 emissions. By now 28 years after the computer models predicted that we would warm by 2.7˚C by the end of this century we should be at a certain plateau which we haven’t reached (aka the hiatus).

Empirical data gathered in the last 28 years suggests a warming of 1˚C by the end of this century.

And when you’re computer models and the theory behind them don’t match your observations and measurements in nature then the computer models and their theory is wrong, no matter who is the author (IPCC).

The problem is that man made CO2 emissions don't drive the amount of CO2 in our atmosphere.

We have been warming since 1850 coming out of the little ice age, with this warming natural sinks degas more CO2 into the atmosphere, what man sends up is but a small portion of the natural CO2 emissions.

This is proven by the slowing down of the economy by covid-19, yet CO2 continuous to climb at its steady rate.
