NOBODY here EVER supported the actions of Tarrant.

NOBODY here EVER said he was justified.

MOST here called for the highest level of punishment for his crimes, Bobby went the whole hog.

NOBODY here EVER 'blamed the victims'.  Some of us very clearly have stated repeatedly that this group attacked are a peaceful lot of refugees who have done nothing to NZ, and that the perpetrator is a traitor to the white race and is unworthy of it.

Saying that such an event was inevitable is not the same as supporting or justifying it, but it WAS inevitable at some time.  It remains inevitable that there will be further such incidents worldwide.

Those are the facts and they are indisputable.

Greg - you owe Bobby an apology for your extremist view expressed about his response to this incident.  And you demand a terrorist watch on any potential 'white supremacist terrorist' (a tiny minority in reality) yet you consider watching equally potential 'other group supremacist terrorists' to be intrusive and oppressive, and this despite the facts on a daily basis throughout the world.

Tarrant - life without .. the idiot involved in Manchester only got 55 years.... because he was under 21 at the time he couldn't get life without... SAME-SAME!  All decent and reasonable people here support this heavy penalty format for ALL such acts.

A man left fighting for his life in the wake of the "heinous" Christchurch mosque shootings has called for the death penalty to be reintroduced in New Zealand.

Mohammad Alayan, who owns An-Nur Early Childhood Education and Care Centre in South Dunedin, was at the Al Noor Mosque on March 15, 2019, when Australian gunman Brenton Tarrant shot him in the head and chest, and killed his son, Atta.

They were among the 51 people killed and 49 injured in the terrorist attack.

Dr Alayan, of Christchurch, has recovered from his injuries and has prepared his victim impact statement, to be read at the sentencing of Tarrant.

He provided a copy of it to the Otago Daily Times yesterday.



"Since March 15, 2019 until writing this statement, my heart is yearning for restoration of justice to the victims of the heinous massacre, and a call for the death penalty for the brutal and conscienceless criminal," his statement says.

"Crimes like the one committed on March 15, 2019, are so heinous and inherently wrong that they demand the death penalty to deter such heinous crimes in the future, and to keep the society safe.

"The death penalty for the most heinous murders and the most brutal and conscienceless murderers, such as the terror attack on March 15, 2019, is a must if justice is to prevail.

"To sentence killers like Brenton Harrison Tarrant to less than death, would fail to do justice, because the penalty — presumably a long period in prison — would be grossly disproportionate to the heinousness of the crime."
