... from what I've seen and smelt, they don't believe in washing. You'll find around Bucharest lots of houses with gold plated roofs ... those all belong to gypsies ... there must be good money in pick pocketing.
Maybe they saved heaps from less water usage!
Everyone I have spoken to love Rome, even my son and his wife.
I must be the only one that hated it.
Maybe because I had a 17 yr old daughter with me that these young blokes all kept asking her to a “party” (like f. K !)
I told the elderly male receptionist about it and he shook his head no with a grim look.
And there were a group of 3-4 of these young guys following us, while we were walking with our cousins and aunt, now.... everyone I pointed the vhs video camera to would say “ciao” smile and wave, when I turned the camera to these guys following us, they quickly averted hid their faces. I have that on VHS!
Well.... I didn’t know this then but that movie with Liam Neeson “Taken” explained it all.
They use the word “party” because they say the western girls love that.
Then, we did a day bus tour around Rome...to see the Colloseum, the Trevi Fountain, and The Vatican City.
It rained like hell as soon as we boarded the bus, and all these Indian guys came out of nowhere to sell umbrellas! 😂
I bought 2 of course for 10 lire each.
Then as we walked to the Trevi fountain while raining they were there selling umbrellas to other tourists.
And as sudden as it rained, it was sunny... all them Indian fellas disappeared! I couldn’t believe how fast they vanished,
Anyway, the Trevi Fountain was in the pokiest place .... didn’t expect that.
Vatican City I saw not much of as there was some service by the pope and 140,000 people were there!
All us being scanned and bags checked before going in (remember it was just after 9/11)
Saw crowds, shops, a McDonalds and that’s all I saw!
Would have loved to go into that building.
Well thank goodness the Colosseum was fascinating to explore.
