Right at this moment, I have 9 kinds of cheese in the fridge.

Aldi mild cheese slices (for the kids)
Block of Aldi vintage
Greek fetta
Tub of bocconcini
Block of haloumi
Tub of cottage cheese
Wedge of brie
Small wedge of parmesan
1kg wheel of Dutch Edem (my SIL brought back from EU just before the WuFlu hit but forgot to give us until the weekend)

This is what happens when 3 people in the house love cheese and all shop without looking in the fridge first.

Gordon you could open your own deli soon .....
ALDI mils cheese as you say for kids, good vintage ok with nice wine and some crackers, fetta is great for a lovely Greek salad, Bocconcini should always be in the fridge, haloumi ..... not for me, cottage cheese is nice with caraway seeds, salt, pepper , paprika on a dark bread, brie good on a crusty baguette,
For me missing would be a nice pecorino for spaghetti carbonara, and a gorgonzola with a bottle of Italian red and a lovely crusty bread, ........... now I am hungry

One of my favourites, and which I eat a lot of is Bega 'Strong
and Bitey' vintage cheese.

Reminds me of the old 'Robertson' cheese which I used to love
before they stopped making it.

do you remember when we had the small"" deli"" or dairy as they were one known as.. and as you walked in you got this amazing smell mostly from the cheese which had to be cut   no such thing as cheese in plastic...ahhh those were the days..kids today are  missing out on so much having these wonderful smells disappear.

May give that a go but tend to mostly like a strongish "tasty" often the stronger bitey's are a bit much for me.

Myself and the dog share a few slices on most days.

At the moment i have:

Block of Tasty

Mozzarella mix - make pizza regularly.

Some Parmesan.

A bit short normally there would be more.

My dog has impeccable manners when it comes to asking to share a snack, he sits patiently and looks at me and says, please dad, could I have just a little....except with cheese then he's all, give me some NOW.

I bought 1kg of ricotta from Aldi, $8/kg. It's as good as the expensive stuff from the EyeTie deli!!

Just add to salads, side dishes. Last night I fried up a big batch of mushrooms and melted some ricotta thru it.Yum.

Also the 4 year old eats it by the spoonful which is good because he has issues with plain milk but is fine with cheese.

Normally, I just get block cheese and sliced cheese. Anymore interest in cheese, I could become a wino.
