We're both wrong.

Quote:
The transcripts were released by Senate Republicans after being provided by Trump’s new national intelligence director, John Ratcliffe, who waded into one of the most contentious political topics in his first week on the job.

Ratcliffe’s extraordinary decision to disclose transcripts of intercepted conversations with a foreign ambassador is part of ongoing efforts by Trump allies to release previously secret information from the Russia investigation in hopes of painting Obama-era officials in a bad light.
The transcripts are unlikely to significantly reshape public understanding of the contact between Flynn and the then Russian ambassador, a central moment in the Russia investigation.

They do show that the men did in fact discuss sanctions, matching the general description of the call provided in the 2017 guilty plea that Flynn reached with special counsel Robert Mueller’s team.

So why did Flynn lie, dear? You still haven't said.

Because the FBI put a loaded gun to his head and said "say this or we pull the trigger on you and your son".

Nothing wrong with that - standard practice for opponents really.

You would of course would never have done that. You have standards - unless there was overtime money involved - eh Caramel?

They met Flynn in the White House, dear. That's impossible.

They asked him the question and he said no. How did they intimidate him?

Karnal is obfuscating because he/she/it is caught in her/his/its own lies.

No no, just answer the question, dear. How did the FBI intimidate Flynn into lying about his involvement with the Russians?

You've gone from he didn't lie to it's not against the law to he did it to protect to his son to the FBI intimidated him, so unfair.

So again, why did he lie?

His own lawyers, eh? Cunning.

Flynn spoke to the FBI without any lawyers and without any intimidation. They visited Flynn in the White House after hearing him on tape speaking with the Russian Ambassador on about 20 separate calls. So, Mr Flynn, did you speak to any Russians after the erection?

No, why?

Oh, just curious. Thanks.

Intimidation, eh? Flynn's lawyers advised him to co-operate because he didn't have a leg to stand on. FBI prosecutors didn't withdraw Flynn's charges because he's innocent, they withdrew them because Bill Barr passed the order on from Trump: drop charges.

Flynn pleaded guilty to those charges. Of course he lied to the FBI. Of course he breached the Logan Act, the Hatch Act and plenty other felonies as well, the FBI only charged him with lying to them. Flynn was getting off lightly. They even recommended a non-custodial sentence.

As soon as Judge Sullivan disagreed with the FBI about non-custodial sentences, they dropped the charges.

Cunning, no? Now why do you think that was?

Stone goes down in June, by the way. Probably the same minimum security place as Cohen. If there's any justice left in America, Flynn will be joining them.

Which ones were talking?

Not Stone, he stayed schtum from the start. Goes to jail in a couple of weeks.

Not Cohen - not initially, anyway. He prayed for a pardon, and when it didn't come, he cooperated, then lied, then got warned and went back to cooperating.

Flynn? Cooperated from day-one. Big guilty plea too: sorry I lied, guys.

Draining the swamp? No administration since Nixon has had this many arrests. Even Republican judges are saying enough's enough. Flynn broke the law - big time. He needs to face that.

Nothing wrong with that - standard practice for opponents really.

Oh crickey...well if it's in The Guardian it'll be right then.  I retract all my previous comments now that the light has been shone so brightly apron my wrong doings...

Oh hang on....the crappion.....not in this lifetime sunshine..pond sucking scum dogs.

It's in every other paper too, dear. Do you want to answer the question?

Gee...maybe his lawyers advised/strong armed him....guess that answers that.

Don't be stupid ..stupid.

If Trump went within a mile of this all hell would break loose....safe to say you lie.

Bill Barr is pretty much a stooge...he's mainly concerned about minimising the fall out...but even he is now seeing the depth of this attempted and ongoing coup on the POTUS.....but he is fat and soft....on all levels.  The new boys on the block not so....

Looks like Muellars team is ready for the drop....Nunes requested this information years ago....no wonder Rodentstein withheld it.....gonna need more rope.

No wonder they had to bury Flynn.....the light is well and truly on the corrupted.....the desperate rats are in the trap which ones are talking.....who's doing a plea deal first?? Strozk better look left and right before he crosses a street just in case he accidentally throws himself under a bus   Grin

All stitched up by Mueller's hit squad....for petty nothing non crimes....got any Russians in that bundle of lies? You'll need to find some new ones....all the old ones ain't singing your dumb tune.

Mueller went so far as to charge Russians with crimes.

What Mueller did not expect is that those Russians who  turned up in a US court to plead not guilty.

The charges were dismissed - very embarrassing for Mueller. Mueller's inquiry was a hoax - politically driven charade that we knew except the clueless

Give it up!

No no, just answer the question, dear. How did the FBI intimidate Flynn into lying about his involvement with the Russians?

You've gone from he didn't lie to it's not against the law to he did it to protect to his son to the FBI intimidated him, so unfair.

So again, why did he lie?

Read the transcript!

Of the FBI interview?

Come come, you'll have to better than that.

Why did Flynn lie? Shouldn't he be proud of his tight relationship with the Russian Ambassador?

A confession under duress carries no weight. You do understand that?

There is nothing in that conversation that was wrong or illegal. Incoming administrative heads have the right to discuss upcoming policies beforehand - happens all the time.

The FBI had read the transcript before meeting with Flynn. They wanted to trap him and they did. It was none of the FBI"s business what Flynn said - in fact eavesdropping on an agency head is most likely illegal.

We now know the FBI's actions were politically motivated. Flynn needs to sue and members of the FBI need to be charged. And the FBI shouldn't meddle in the policies of a duly elected government. NSC attempted to control the incoming administration.

Hillary was treated a little different after destroying subpoenaed evidence by the FBI. Imagine if Flynn  had done something like that?

The only "duress" was evidence. Flynn colluded with the Russians. He said he didn't. He sabotaged the course of justice by lying to the FBI.

I'm just asking you why he did it. Why did Flynn lie?
