Doesnt social distancing on golf courses/pro shops allow
golf to be played....

Perhaps, but it may have also been a case of them saying compared to cycling, running etc. Its not exercise so is it essential?

No...Young said that NRL players could not play in Qld unless they had flu shots...she stated that they could play if they had
a medical waiver, but would not be allowed to play if they refused to have a flu shot based on philosophical reasons.
The NRL originally demanded that all players have a flu shot, then when Cartwright and others objected Young stepped
in and demanded that they have flu shots if they WANTED TO PLAY IN QLD....

Seems reasonable.

Well its common knowledge up here on the GC amigo....
Do some googling...you might learn something.....
BTW...while youre at it...let me know how someone in Victoria
can catch the virus playing golf....was that "expert" medical advice or just more bullshit tyranny and incompetence....

Easy by playing in groups. Infecting the pro shop staff. And you're from the GC? Seems fair.

Lol, its just one of those places I've been whereby residents opinion of it is far greater than what it actually is like. The Shire in Sydney is another example.

BH..youre avoiding the issue which GP raised...
that is.. he raised a question about medical professionals
and their advice....
Perhaps you are simply conceding that their advice is not so
much "expert" but simply guesswork.
You cant get the virus playing golf.
BTW I have spoken to Police at the roadblock in Coolangatta….
They assure me that no-one is turned back if they haven't had a flu shot. They also agreed that it was quite laughable for Young to insist on all NRL players having flu shots
if they wanted to play in Qld….

You cant get the virus playing golf.

Is there anything in particular about golf that makes you immune?

My thinking is it wasn't considered essential like other exercise so can it.

I think you're confusing surfers with the GC in general. Most GC residents avoid surfers. That's for tourists. I think i went to surfers about 3 times last year. Each time was when council had an event on. Otherwise, I avoid it.

Each state decided what was appropriate for them, maybe the other states didn't go far enough

Are you defending Andrews and his CMO?
It sounds like you are defending Andrews.
Youre not serious are you.
Each state has an expert CMO.
Why didnt Victoria close its borders.
The expert advice given by Qld CMO was to close Qld borders.
Victoria is far more heavily populated than Qld, and adjoins NSW, another heavily populated state. Interstate travel
between Victoria and NSW Id imagine, would be far greater, or at least equivalent to NSW/Qld travel.
Why dont you admit that Andrews is simply a tyrrant and that all the CMOs are just guessing.
We still dont know who was responsible for the Ruby Princess debacle....
Was it NSW Health...was it the NSW CMO....
In Qld we have planes which cant fly on Anzac Day due to a ruling by the CMO
In Victoria, they cant play golf because of a ruling by the CMO
And in NSW we have the Ruby Princess debacle where 2700 passengers are allowed to disembark....
By the NSW CMO????????....maybe....
And we are debating their competence....
Gimme a break......!!!!

This was a novel situation which people weren't going to get 100% right.

My argument would be based on how low our relative death and infection rates are compared to other similar countries, our respective state and federal governments have done an extremely good job.

Their competence shouldn't be called into question

i'll call it into question.

we have spot fires starting all over the place as was exactly to be expected.

the correct scenario was to lock down to the extent that the hospitals werent overwhelmed.
unfortunately our politicians and health officers (all of whom have not missed a dollar earnt or a day at work) clamped down way way too hard.

we have 5500 ventilators,   5495 gathering dust.

we should ease off and keep easing off till those ventilators are occupied because , guess what, this virus is going nowehre, many 100's of thousands of people are destined to get it  , so why the delay.

many 100's of 1000s of people get seasonal flu which is less contagious and which we have a somewhat effective vaccine for.
the idea we can extinguish this is a lie.

we need to man up and get back to work and shut down a bit if and only if our hospitals cant cope.

i might add, in america, their hospitals are coping quite nicely

Well yes.

That's because most Americans - thanks to Trump - can't afford to go to one.
