Disinfecting the blood is not that stupid an idea

Iodine which is present in the body is a natural disinfectant and blood purifier and is also stored in the thyroid for purposes of blood purification. This maybe what Trump was alluding to without upsetting his big pharma mates who just want to make a packet out of this by treating the symptoms and not find a cure !!

Check out what Dr Shiva has proposed in a letter to Trump. By treating the immune system with iodine and Vitamins is a lot better than trying to find a never ever vaccine used to treat a person with a very poor immune system !

Trump is an idiot. Not even he knows what he was rambling about. Why are people so eager to find some hidden wisdom in his blatherings?

So what's wrong with iodine then ?? It's a natural disinfectant that the body does not reject !

Iodine is an element found in small amounts in your body. Your body needs iodine to make thyroid hormones, which regulate your growth, metabolism, and other important functions.

Few foods naturally contain iodine, so manufacturers started adding it to table salt to prevent iodine deficiency. Other food sources of iodine include shrimp, boiled eggs, cooked navy beans, and unpeeled potatoes.

Most adults should try to get about 150 micrograms (mcg) of iodine per day. The Linus Pauling Institute provides a list of tolerable upper intake levels (the maximum amount of iodine someone can consume without any negative side effects) for different age groups:

children ages 1 to 3: 200 mcg per day
children ages 4 to 8: 300 mcg per day
children ages 9 to 13: 600 mcg per day
adolescents ages 14 to 18: 900 mcg per day
adults ages 19 and older: 1,100 mcg per day
Consuming more than the tolerable upper intake level for your age group can lead to iodine poisoning.

If you or someone you’re with may have iodine poisoning, seek emergency medical treatment. Have the following information handy if possible when you call 911 or get to the hospital:

how much iodine was taken
the person’s height and weight
any underlying conditions they may have, especially anything involving the thyroid
What are the symptoms?
The symptoms of iodine poisoning range from fairly mild to severe, depending on how much iodine is in your system.

More mild symptoms of iodine poisoning include:

diarrhea
burning sensation in your mouth
nausea
vomiting

Severe symptoms of iodine poisoning include:

swelling of your airways
turning blue (cyanosis)
weak pulse
coma

Consuming too much iodine can also lead to a condition called iodine-induced hyperthyroidism. This usually happens when people take iodine supplements to improve their thyroid function.

Symptoms of hyperthyroidism include:

fast heart rate
muscle weakness
warm skin
unexplained weight loss

Hyperthyroidism is particularly dangerous if you have an underlying heart condition, since it affects your heart rate.

There's nothing wrong with it. It is your desperate search for hidden wisdom in Trump's idiotic ramblings that is of interest. It's like you think he's the Nostradamus of things that are already common knowledge.

Trump admitted he was being sarcastic and I agree he knows very little about science.

He transparently lied that he was being sarcastic. Watch the video. You could almost see the cogs ticking over in his head as he earnestly tried to appear intelligent.

All bullshit of course they used to frighten people away from iodine to the more lucrative antibiotics Sad

I take 10 drops a day of nascent iodine with no adverse effects. I know someone who was dosing themselves up with 40 drops a day and they cured an over active thyroid gland which the quacks wanted to destroy using a dose of radioactive iodide which is he only treatment they have !

He's received a letter from this dude about a prospective cure that doesn't involve big phama. My guess he does't want to rock the boat with big pharma breathing down his neck with a prospective vaccine that they can make trillions from.

That might help too, Nail, but just to clarify, Mr Trump never said you should drink the disinfectant, he was talking about disinfecting the lungs. Like, if we could find a way to inject it into the lungs so it can kill the virus - he's talking about doctors here, he's not saying to do it yourself - if they could find a way to open it up to get the disinfectant in, we might be able to stop or at least slow the virus from spreading.

Add light, I don't know, from UV rays or something, maybe a precision laser device like a gun - they do have them, this is not science fiction - and we've got another tool in our kit to fight this thing. Disinfectant, heat and light, these are all weapons in our armoury, we shouldn't be afraid of them.

It then becomes a question of application. You'd need to open up the lungs - and again, I'm talking about doctors here, no one should be doing this themselves. Surgeons and other qualified medical professionals do it all the time. You'd open up the lungs, wipe them down or inject them with disinfectant, and do the UV thing with the laser gun. Think about it - how could a virus survive that?

Look, maybe it'd work and maybe it wouldn't, we'd need to see what happens, but it's definitely worth looking into, even the coronavirus task force doctor admitted that. We need to do everything we can to get the economy back to normal by October, so we have to try everything. Okay, so the hydrocholoquine trials haven't done so good, but at least they gave it a go. We need to try everything.

The task force now has a new idea they can go off and try. It mightn't work, but the important thing is to give it a go. Hopefully, they can announce something at next week's briefing.
