Indonesia is steadily progressing regressing towards a fundamentalist Islamic state.

Indonesia is going to get its butt cracked by a alliance of Phillipines, PNG, E-Timor, Solomon Islands, Micronesia, Balinese and other Indo-Indigenous Non-Moslem minorities - when the big War lets a free-for-all go.

Why do you need to ask? If they were progressing towards Nazism we would never hear the end of it.

I don't need to ask, but I am.

I'm wondering why people on here are getting so hysterical over things that have no effect on their own lives.

Looks like a simple statement of fact to me. The only thing approaching hysteria is the triggering of the limp wristed apologists every time someone states the bleeding obvious about Islam.

So, what exactly is the problem here?

And, what fraud are you referring to?

Halal Certification .... going beyond Halal & Haram food & food slaughter.

Why on earth would you think that material metal /plastic electronic white goods require Halal Certification?

Are you that thick?

Why do you get so upset over things that have no effect on your life?

Moreover, Halal (and haram) apply to all facets of life.

It's not just about food (I'm not sure who told you it was).

Maybe you should do some research - if you don't, your ignorance is going to continue to make you (unnecessarily) upset.

Listen Noddy when it pervades all non Muslims lives because companies pander to a minority to make an extra buck .....

& when material things require the certification & subsequent fees

it's a problem.

It becomes a religious/Islamic tax on non Muslims.

Pull your head out of your arse.

But that's not what's happening is it?

Those goods from a large manufacturer(Sharp) have certification stickers on them & they plan to do more.

Those white goods are going to require a Halal certified certificate .... which comes at a cost ... & not because they contain elements of animal ...

but because they are used to store or cook food.

You would think that even you average Indonesian/Muslim would know/have the intelligence to know what's Halal or Haram ...... & only Halal foods would be in their home.

Plastics & metals don't contain HARAM elements.

As I said ... pull you head out of your backside.

Halal Certification & it's costs are on the increase in Australia.

Those costs at the end of the day are not just paid by Australian Muslims .... it's non Muslims as well.

So it affects everyone.

Does Halal certification increase costs to consumers?

"The cost of obtaining Halal certification varies depending on the product involved, the organisation from which certification is sought and whether the goods are for export or domestic consumption. However, the fees are often modest.

"For large-scale manufacturing the cost of certification in the context of overall manufacturing, advertising and distribution costs has little, if any, impact on a product’s price.

"For example, in relation to Halal certification, the Senate Economics References Committee (the Committee) noted, in a 2015 report on third party certification of food that ‘evidence received by the committee overwhelmingly suggests that Halal certification does not result in increased food prices’."

What does he mean by "fraud" and "scam"?    Undecided

he thinks the microwave is made of animal skins and so shouldn't be certified.

Dickhead.

I wouldn't go that far. I think you're more likely to be a touch excitable, especially about thing you don't understand.

Why should we allow a Moslem Religion to profit for their Prophet with 'blessed' items to command a higher price against competitive Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox 'blessed' items?

Ban HALAL and relegate it back down to the 'unworthy' level where it belongs.
