Is the Coronavirus the end of the Abbos?
I feel sorry for them as they don't have the immunity from disease that we have.
The European diseases brought here in the past almost wiped them out
but now this Coronavirus could be the end for them?

The NT Govt has closed its borders - no one in without 14 day isolation. There is a schedule of 76 Aboriginal communities where residents may leave but will not be allowed back in even with isolation. Queensland has done something similar with the NT border and there have been noises about isolating Cape York and Torres Strait communities.

They get colds and flus just by being around whiteman. And then they spread it within their communities.

diseases are frightening beasts.
Our populations are now so large and so concentrated that disease is a very large problem.
I have a feeling that world will never be the same again after this pandemic.
We've had quarantine for animals crossing our borders
but never for humans.
Maybe after this is all over - maybe 18 months -
there will have to be new laws
to stop it happening again?

We're talking about an extinction event.

The Abbos in their outback communities will probably be ok and have resistance, they have flies crawling all over them all day, they eat and sleep with their flea infested dogs, they eat nothing but processed foods and chips, they drink nothing but coke and beer, going for a jog or have a morning shower. pfft.
Breakfast: a packet of chips 6 stubbies  and 10 smokes.

This is the life 1/4 of them choose.

They are feeling rich tonight, load up the Land Cruiser.

NT Police have come down strongly on one of the first cases of a large group flouting anti-distancing restrictions because of coronavirus fears.

About 150 people gathered at a camp near Alice Springs and refused police orders to disperse.

At one point, about 60 members of the group became aggressive towards the police and started throwing bottles.

Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker expressed his disappointment at the behaviour of the large group following a disturbance at Charles Creek camp at Alice Springs.

Police arrived to the camp about 3 this morning to see about 150 people gathering and displaying anti-social behaviour.

Police were explaining the restrictions relating to the COVID-19 virus and mass gatherings, when a group of around 60 people became aggressive towards police and started to throw bottles.

Police disengaged and requested further assistance.

The group dispersed as more police arrived.

Commissioner Jamie Chalker said this conduct towards police and reports of rocks being thrown at a St John ambulance and a taxi are completely unacceptable.

"Frontline responders are leading the way to ensure the safety of people and to save lives.

"We have no time for ignorance. We need everyone to bond together.

"Mass gatherings go completely against the national messaging and the high importance that everyone is placing around self-quarantine at the moment, ensuring appropriate social distancing.

"The sad reality is, the many moves we are making are based on the fact we know there is a vulnerable cohort living in the Northern Territory. We are taking many steps to ensure that those people have a significant likelihood of surviving COVID-19.

"Many are Aboriginal people, and I need leadership in those communities to make sure that there is a higher level of education and awareness because the behaviour that we saw last night is completely unacceptable.

They only hate Politicians and their Police.
Everyone else they like.
I don't have a problem with Abbos.
They used to give me tips heaps when I drove them in a Taxi.
We'd even have great discussions during the trip.
Only Political-British/American Whities cop the Abbo flak.

So they have the Australian Army maning the roadblocks to isolate the communities

I suspected they would need that.
