Your link does point out over 5000 girls in the UK have been subjected to FGM.

There is no mention of FGC is the Quran and only one weak Hadith that mentions cutting but not any suggestion of who or what should be cut.

The practice originated amongst Animists of Africa. The religions, as they have always done, jumped on board.
