Poor petal. Trying so hard to be relevant.

Have you bought your new EV yet? Or even a second hand one? If not why not?

Range anxiety?

At the moment, there is no EV that fits my particular needs. ONce there is, I will look at it.

Well then keep taking it up the arse at the fossil fool bowser and on parts and service. Be my guest. BTW someone said they can get 400k's out of a Tesla Model 3 !! Try walking that distance next time Wink

Jesus christ, I'm on your side you idiot. I'm simply saying that currently as it stands, no EV fits my particular needs, unless you can point me to a on the market EV, that has the ability to really go off road.\

your unusual needs are of no consequence to the general driving public. Cheesy LOL

Quite a lot of people drive off road. E.g. I was reading an article that one of the biggest groups pestering Toyota fro hybrids was farmers.

I doubt grass roots farmers would be doing that, perhaps a greenie infiltraitor in one of the lobby groups??

Toyota would do well to bring out the Tundra to Aust with a 5 or 6 litre diesel....and watch the sales rip.

Why? Farmers are looking for any way to reduce their costs, reducing fuel use would be a saving.

Bad luck you and socko sat there bagging Tesla all of these years instead of following them and coming up with your own home grown products to create lots of jobs and growth.

But aren't you an international businessman? Surely that would be in your wheelhouse. Wink

So you are now an EV owner? Good for you.

Funny how the LNP can't see jobs in renewables and associated industries. Only when it comes to destroying the planet can they see jobs Sad

So why does it need  a massive cooling system and how much energy is thrown away as heat and heating up brake rotors ?

And why does it need constant maintenance otherwise it will fail catastrophically ? Hardly call that a "work of absolute efficiency, effectiveness and convenience" Cheesy LOL

Can you at least be realistic?

At the moment, convenience in terms of refuelling, ICE wins.

EVs have improved massively, but they are still behind

Really? When your machinery uses 1000ltrs per 24 hrs of use, and your running 6-7 days a week round the clock, do you really think the 100 litres you use in your car a week or fortnight makes any difference.

Stop thinking like a city dweller...most highway trucks carry 1500-2000 litres, even they burn at 40-50 litres an hour or 100km...which is the same as a full tank in your VW Golf.

Get real.  Millions of people jump into ICE powered vehicles every day with zero issues. Millions.

If you think the EVs are gonna be fault free think again. You are beyond stupid.

If the public rather than those with vested interests thought this, then the the Ford Mustang 5.0ltr wouldn't have sold a single unit.....however, reality says other, even Ford can't believe their Mustang sales figures.  Appears we want real cars, not overpriced golf carts with that fraudster musks grubby name on them.

Poor Petal. So out of his depth - again. The glass would be made under contract to Tesla specs. if the product wasn't the quality assured they would sue the manufacturer. BUT they would test the product (or at least should) before putting it on a demo vehicle.

With respect I've forgotten more about running sheep than you know.Vast majority of farmers have moved away from sheep.  65million head today versus 170 million in the 1990's (my early days), 180 million in the 1960's (my fathers days), we are now equivalent to the 1880's with current figures.

Pissy little fuel savings are meaningless when you can't even afford to buy a new Hilux , which is evactly where today's sheep grazier is placed.

Or people doing some basic research

Not all farmers use a heap of machinery.  E.g. how much machinery do you think is involved in sheep farming?

With respect I've forgotten more about running sheep than you know.Vast majority of farmers have moved away from sheep.  65million head today versus 170 million in the 1990's (my early days), 180 million in the 1960's (my fathers days), we are now equivalent to the 1880's with current figures.

Pissy little fuel savings are meaningless when you can't even afford to buy a new Hilux , which is evactly where today's sheep grazier is placed.

So we still have sheep, and you didn't answer my question. And I'd dispute the forgotten more bit.

Moot point. Can't make enough money out of sheep to afford a new Hilux...if and when...next 4 years maybe lol....Toyota think about making one with some sort of hibrid motor....diesel and rubber bands maybe?

No reference to the industry nagging Toyota?  Did you make that bit up?

Banning ICE is peak dumb.  Gonna be around for a long time yet.

These politicians better ban rope too.
