John Molan......What a dinosaur !

What is the evidence John? I agree humans have caused some climate change - land use change etc. But is it measurable?

The audience obviously seemed to think there was plenty of evidence that he was a dinosaur.

There are 67 billion reasons to lie about climate change. That's the value of coal exports.

That doesn't make it ethical.

I think you fully understand the science, but continue to plug away with the usual nonsense, but I may be overestimating your intellgence.

You could be just a non-technical person who hasn't actually studied any of this (let's face it) high school science.

Or, you're confused about the facts, but have a strong opinion regardless.  What do you call someone who has a strong opinion about something even though they don't  have any grasp of the facts?

So I'm specifically not calling you mendacious or unethical. I'm specifically not calling you feeble minded or hypocritical, because I'm really not sure which category you fall into.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here, but if I don't answer you within 6 months it's because life is too short and I'm too busy having fun.

It tells me that with the lack of Independent journalism in Australia, such attempts are futile. Public opinion is dominated by the media.

The UK don't have huge coal reserves, and they are actually taking positive steps against carbon emissions. They also have a Conservative government.

What does that tell you?

When the demand for Australian coal dries up (as it will), will you then change your mind, or will the media change your mind for you?

There should be bipartisan support in Australia for a transition to a carbon neutral economy.

I have voted Liberal all my adult life because of other factors. Even if the ALP said they were going to bring in a carbon reduction scheme, I wouldn't trust them. Their track record is not exactly glowing.

Mostly bushfire victims actually.  The tide is turning. It already drowned Tony Abbott. The other dinosaurs will follow.

Actually both parties ran with a climate change policy at the last election.

Labor also ran with a raft of other policies

- dividend imputation
- negative gearing
- capital gains tax
- budget repair levy reintroduction
- reversal of Coalition tax cuts in 2022 & 2024
- superannuation concessions

So to try and claim that the 2019 election was a referendum on climate change is drawing a VERY long bow  Grin

And they lost only because of those policies? Nothing to do with climate policy?  Grin Grin Grin Grin

I don't think it's 'human-induced' either.

Yeah sure I'm not saying they only ran with AGW mitigation.

But from memory they did bank on it being the one thing that would get them over the line with all these brainwashed millennials coming of voting age.

The mainstream media is very heavily skewed in pushing the CO2 doomsday scenario have you heard the way they tell us the weather these days its more like a phenomenon than a daily occurrence.

It would be nice to see the media present the scientist that are on the other side of the fence when it comes to AGW.

So the people can hear both sides of the story.

Oh that's right I forgot

IT IS FORBIDDEN TO DISCUSS THE SCIENCE OF AGW.

Now why would that be, if it was sound and true the sceptics would be shot down EVERY TIME.

Well if you dislike coal so much stop using anything that has to do with it...... Grin
