People Are Over Reacting.
Jan 6th, 2020 at 4:05pm

Donations flooding in from international celebrities.
Governments pledging billions of dollars.

The scale of the loss needs to be taken into context.

Maybe a thousand homes or thereabouts. Maybe 2000.

Cyclone Tracey destroyed 90 % of the homes in Darwin. In excess of 20000

The 1974 flood in brisbane destroyed a similar number.

Berlin in 1945, Tokyo in 1945.
There were probably millions of homes.
Those places were back to being beautiful in no time .
Probably even improved

Fixing this current problem is surely not beyond us
Have we become such pussies that we aren't up for a bit of hard work
Are we all so used to everything having to " go our way" that we believe all this " catastrophic " negative talk.

Turn that frown upside down.
These problems are an opportunity  for people to step up, man up and own

Tell that to the kids who have lost their fathers.

Australians can't cope with Hardship.
It's too easy here, that we have to create our own disasters like the current Wild Fires.
Years of dismissing experts because they didn't have a middle-eastern Religion like Christianity or because they lived like Campers rather than inner-city latte sipping 'civilised' people who 'owned' other people to do work for them.

Everything in this country is designed to keep the PM & Gov-Gen 'safe' and in power.

...it seems even our priorities in this country are pretty dysfunctional.

Sometimes your stupidity amazes me.

The scale of loss to those kids is 100% - it can't be any worse.

They haven't lost half a father, or a quarter of a father.

You really are an insufferable prick.

I thought Morriscum was an arsehole, but here you are making fun of 17 people who have died in these fires.

Scum of the earth mate.

They don't get much lower than you.

This Aboriginal has been working against the current for 20 years trying to teach Whitey how to play with Fire and use as both prevention and advantage.

Whitey prefers to just concentrate on 'aftermaths' and not listen to 'primitive' advice.
Just doesn't add up does it. Roll Eyes

I noticed the ABC is directing all donations to the Red Cross.

I really hope all bushfire donations are being sent 100% to bush fire related relief amd not....

His comments were disgusting.

It's not a contest to see which tragedy has the biggest death toll.

aqua wouldn't have the guts to stand in front of one of those kids who has lost their father in the fires and tell them that more people lost their fathers in 1915, and therefore they should get over it.

Idiot.

I did learn a long time ago the Red Cross takes 20% of all donations... not sure if its still the case but I stopped giving to them when I found that out.....

I am thinking this is going to be the next CRISIS...there is going to be an awful lot of money  ....

and only a few involved in dispensing  it... Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

whos bank accounts is it all going into????.....when is there ever a audit of where all the money went???

I admit I dont give to these kind of funds.....years ago so much disappeared or was used for the wrong things or at least not what people thought they were funding...... and it seemed to happen a lot..

so what do we actually know about whos running what????????

I donated directly to the surf club as surf clubs in affected areas are acting as distribution facilities.

I also trust them not to send money to the next flood in Bangladesh or to buy korans in Indonesia.
