a snippet of news said about 6 were deliberately lit in ACT region.....so far we have been spared the fires.... its incredible the depths some will sink too...we have been blanketed in thick smoke for days now but it must excite some people....

If the cops can prove it they are up for 25 years in jail.

its not up to the cops its the judges or magistrates that dish out the sentencing there is so much frustration for coppers....as they spend many hours at a desk and in courts for all these buggers only to see them walk...

they can be fined $32.000 but fat chance of them paying it..

a few stories coming from the coast...

one servo charging $48. for a case of water... Roll Eyes

another servo closing because 1 in 10 were drive offs... Roll Eyes

not sure how true... there will always be the Best and the WORST of people at times like this..

Intentionally or recklessly causing a bushfire Section 201A, Crimes Act (Vic) 15 years imprisonment

Destroying or damaging property Section 197, Crimes Act (Vic) 10 years imprisonment

Lighting rubbish in a public place or leaving an open fire unattended Section 11, Summary Offences Act (Vic) 12 months imprisonment

Lighting a fire during a total fire ban Section 40, Country Fire Authority Act 240 penalty units or
2 years imprisonment

Knowingly giving a false report to a fire brigade Section 107B, Country Fire Authority Act 60 penalty units and possible compensation order

Set off fireworks in public without a permit Section 4, Summary Offences Act (Vic) 5 penalty units

I heard of that this morning didnt know if it was true...

what can you say..... that price was more than doubled

its a cruel world but I think most people are generous kind and helpful.....only the few are like this... Sad
