We should leave the paris climate agreement
Dec 29th, 2019 at 1:40pm

Quote:
“Following the emissions reduction requirements of the Paris Climate Agreement will impose significant and irreparable economic damage without delivering an environmental dividend,” said Daniel Wild, Research Fellow at the free market think tank the Institute of Public Affairs.

Today the IPA released a research report Why Australia must exit the Paris Climate Agreement. The report estimates that the Paris Climate Agreement emissions targets will impose a $52 billion economic cost, over 2018-2030. This equates to $8,566 per family.

“The immutable law of energy policy is this: lower emissions mean higher prices.”

“Each family in Australia will be at least $8,566 worse off under the Paris Climate Agreement, on average. This is at a time when wages are stagnating and the cost of living is rising.”

“$52 billion could purchase 22 new hospitals or pay for 20 years’ worth of the Gonski 2.0 education funding.”

“For families, $8,566 could be used to pay off credit card debt, pay the school fees for a few years, or pay four years’ worth of electricity bills.”

The report finds the Agreement which Australia signed is much different to how it is currently operating. The United States has exited the Agreement. China is unconstrained by the Agreement. And none of the European Union nations are on track to meet their targets.

“The time to exit the Agreement is now. The government must put lower prices and improved reliability ahead of emissions reductions.”

The report finds that the cost of the Paris Agreement more than twice cancels out the benefits of the government’s tax relief, put forward in the 2018-19 Budget.

“The National Energy Guarantee and the Paris Agreement will lead to higher electricity prices. This will damage business investment, jobs growth, and wages growth, and put upward pressure on everyday goods and services,” said Mr Wild.

and whose coal is china and India burning ? Wouldn't be ours by any chance ? ANd that's why we shouldn't do anything about emissions because greed overrides science - right ?

as it is ............  The United States has exited the Agreement. China is unconstrained by the Agreement. And none of the European Union nations are on track to meet their targets.

It doesn't matter what your stance on climate change is, we've seen the abysmal failure those Government's response to the Bushfires has been.

They've shown how little they care about the plight of the people in the areas and the firefighters, volunteer or otherwise.

They're caught between a rock and a hard place.  They are funded by those who are anti-climate change because they profit from actions that make it worse, yet this is the Government whose job it is to protect and work for the people.

They've made their choice in who they work for.

Much like the UNHCR Refugee Convention, they should just leave the Climate accords and send a clear message as to their stance rather than paying lip service during election campaigns then defaulting back to their benefactors will once they win.

Pull out of both, let the people locally and internationally now where you stand and see how long you last in power.

The IPA are a Liberal party front for climate change denial....Completely worthless!!!

The cost of renewable energy will become increasingly cheaper than fossil fuel!!!

Quote:
Renewable Energy Costs Take Another Tumble, Making Fossil Fuels Look More Expensive Than Ever

The cost of renewable energy has tumbled even further over the past year, to the point where almost every source of green energy can now compete on cost with oil, coal and gas-fired power plants, according to new data released today.

And don't forget Natural Gas that other fossil fuel, that enables  quick ramp up for unreliable renewables.

CarlD is getting tongue tied with this difficult English lingo.  And Skippy the Greeny Kangyroo hops by and has not improved one bit - still a hard core uninformed Greeny thru and thru.

In effect we HAVE exited the Paris Climate Con. ScoMo has told that idiotic screeching hysterical Grata ThunderBung to go jump and Anal has said we must keep on exporting coal.

And the Lunatic Extremist Greenies have been totally discredited and shamed for causing the bush fires by banning the clearing of undergrowth.

Australia's total emissions of CO2 are miniscule compared to China and India and Sth Africa and the USA, so why should Australia wreck its economy just to satisfy the Lunatic Extremist Greenies who thought Australia would be a soft touch ?

IPA? Really?

We should have a Royal Commission into the IPA. Crack them open, find out who is funding them and who all of their members are.

Angry Bammy doesn't like the truth coming out of the IPA.

Now to rubbish that idiotic screeching hysterical Grata ThunderBung sheila.

St. Greta of CO2: called out by Gerard Henderson
AMM 28.12.19.

...
Is Grata ThunderBung the con of the century ?

Since the world, according to Greta Thunberg and her disciples, faces extinction it came as no surprise that this year there was a certain madness in the air — especially among those who regard themselves as progressive.

After all, when the end of the world seemed (relatively) nigh it was no surprise that hyperbole, exaggeration, hypocrisy, wish fulfilment, false prophecy and a lack of self-awareness, along with double standards, prevailed in the land as we headed towards Apocalypse Soon — month after month.

On the road to Apocalypse Soon with Greta Thunberg and her disciples
Source: Gerard Henderson, News Corp

January: The year begins with Nine Entertainment newspapers’ Peter FitzSimons criticising footballers who engage in look-at-me behaviour after scoring a goal. This from a middle-aged man who wears a red bandana on his head.
Nine’s David Crowe predicts that if former Liberal Julia Banks wins Flinders in the federal election “it will be an earthquake for the Liberals”. She finishes third.
The New Daily’s Quentin Dempster suggests that Sky News’ Chris Kenny “probably gets his instructions telepathically” from Rupert Murdoch.

February: The Saturday Paper’s Paul Bongiorno tweets he admires “the ABC’s policy to put different voices and accents on air”. He adds: “I wish the reporter they sent to NZ spoke English; her accent is incomprehensible.” In fact, the journalist concerned speaks impeccable English with an understandable Scottish accent.
From Singapore, Alex Turnbull states that the lesson of “the internal war over coal in the Coalition is that the sooner the Qld LNP splits the better” since “you can pander to central cuspy Qld One Nation voters or form government but not both”. See May.

March: Nine newspapers’ Peter Hartcher writes a series of articles on what he regards as the current predicament facing the Liberal Party. Hartcher is of the view that only the likes of Malcolm Turnbull should lead the Liberals.
But he expresses disappointment that his man did not perform in accordance with expectations. Hartcher seeks advice from political psychologist James Walter, who convinces him that Turnbull sold his soul to Lucifer in a modern day “Faustian bargain” to hang on as party leader by appeasing conservatives.
The fact is Turnbull lost the support of his colleagues, who did not include Lucifer. By the way, in January Walter foresaw a “wholesale collapse” of the Liberal Party “appears to be inevitable”.

April: La Trobe University emeritus professor Judith Brett opines that “not since 1943 has the non-Labor side of national politics entered an election campaign in such poor shape” and predicts “it could well be heading for another low point”.
Bongiorno concurs, maintaining the Liberal Party’s “credibility is in tatters due to the fact that the person leading it is not Malcolm Turnbull but it is Scott Morrison”.
Former Liberal leader (and constant Liberal Party antagonist) John Hewson declares the Coalition “is facing electoral defeat”.
Lawyer Michael Bradley advises Crikey readers that Rugby Australia has “every right” to say Israel Folau’s behaviour “cannot be accepted”. See December.

May: On the eve of the election, ABC 7.30 political editor Laura Tingle predicts that Labor will win and laughs at the suggestion the Coalition might prevail.
Guardian Australia’s Katharine Murphy writes that Morrison’s vulnerability as an “empty vessel” is “becoming as obvious as the nose on Morrison’s face”.
The Age’s Tony Wright decrees that “the Liberal edifice is toppling”. Needless to say, this trio remain “experts” after the Coalition’s victory and live to make more false predictions.
Nine newspapers’ cartoonist Kathy Wilcox laments that “morons outnumber the thinking people at election time”. The ABC’s Andrew Probyn blames opinion polls, but not commentators like him, for misleading the electorate.

June: In The Australian Financial Review Geoff Kitney rationalises the election result by asserting that “Australian voters didn’t really choose” Morrison. In a novel interpretation, Kitney reckons “many” electors voted for the Coalition because they thought Labor would win. Really.
Mike Carlton boasts: “I feel this delicious lightness of Being. A heady draught of Liberation! Freedom! It is like Paris, August 1944.”
You see, your man Carlton said he had just cancelled his subscription to The Australian — an act he equated with the D-Day landings.

See the idiotic rubbish in the last 6 months here

The United Nations has all the mechanisms in place in every country around the world from the propaganda to all the necessary laws and regulations.

All that is required is for the PM to give the go ahead for a CO2 commodities market so the oligarchy can tax us all on the air we breathe.

If the libs don’t do it then labor will.

When it does happen I hope the sheeple who voted it in will feel it the most in their hip pockets.

$52 billion dollars from 2018 to 2030 and then  after that....?

Give me $52 billion dollars and with retrofitting and new facilities Australia's emissions will come down to the lowest that could ever be possibly with some change.

We (Australia) emit 0.9% of man made CO2 emissions.

China emits 28% of all manmade CO2 emissions.

I wonder how much we have to pay from 2030 to 2050.

Estimated 40 Percent of Scientists Doubt Manmade Global Warming
Press_Release
January 03, 2011
PRINCETON, NJ (January 3, 2011)—S. Fred Singer said in an interview with the National Association of Scholars (NAS) that “the number of skeptical qualified scientists has been growing steadily; I would guess it is about 40% now.”

Singer, a leading scientific skeptic of anthropocentric global warming (AGW), is an atmospheric physicist, and founder of the Science and Environmental Policy Project (SEPP), an organization that began challenging the published findings of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in the 1990s. SEPP established the Leipzig Declaration, a statement of dissent from the 1997 Kyoto Protocol that has been signed by over one hundred scientists and meteorologists.

Asked what he would like to see happen in regard to public opinion and policy on climate change, Singer replied,

I would like to see the public look upon global warming as just another scientific controversy and oppose any public policies until the major issues are settled, such as the cause. If mostly natural, as NIPCC concludes, then the public policies currently discussed are pointless, hugely expensive, and wasteful of resources that could better be applied to real societal problems.

NIPCC is the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change, another group established by Singer. In 2009 NIPCC published Climate Change Reconsidered,an 880-page report on scientific research that contradicts the models of man-made global warming. Singer believes that global warming exists but that human contributions to it are minimal. In the interview Singer said he believed his efforts in the last twenty years had been successful in disproving the notion that “the science is settled.”

Singer continues his work in the sciences, focusing lately on geophysical research and the Earth’s atmosphere. He is professor emeritus of environmental science at the University  of Virginia, and he was the founding Dean of the School of Environmental and Planetary Sciences at the University of Miami (1964-1967) and the Director of the Center for Atmospheric and Space Physics University of Maryland (1953-1962).

The National Association of Scholars does not take a position on global warming but advocates for a full discussion of all sides of the controversy. To learn more about NAS, visit www.nas.org.

Estimated 40 Percent of Scientists Doubt Manmade Global Warming
