Top 40 Tax Dodgers 2019

This is amazing -
you can click and find out about each company:

https://www.michaelwest.com.au/top-40-tax-dodgers-2019/

https://www.michaelwest.com.au/companies/tax-dodgers/exxonmobil-australia-pty-lt...

ExxonMobil Australia Pty Ltd

ExxonMobil Australia Pty Ltd
4 year total income      $33,170,960,652
4 year taxable income      $0

Whether it is misleading the Parliament of Australia, cutting its workers’ wages, paying zero tax while racking up $33 billion in sales, sending gas prices into the stratosphere or dudding the poor people of Papua New Guinea, Exxon has flair.

They are also masters of intrigue. You won’t find the financial reports for ExxonMobil Australia on its website, you won’t even find the names of the directors, despite the enormity of this operation. You certainly won’t find their photographs without googling madly and paying for company searches.

You absolutely won’t find mention of the 585 entities Exxon has in the Bahamas, or a for that matter, any breakdown of related tax haven associations.

How is it that this, the biggest of the US oil majors, a corporation which has been making fabulous profits in Australia for fifty years, can pay zero income tax? How does it skin its taxable income in this country back to zero?

It must be Melbournian Politics.
Keep the poor honest and well behaved, but let the Rich guys get away with it all.
It's traditionally the opposite in Sydney.

Considering Australia is culturally considered famed for its 'Rural' aspect, both cities are in the wrong then.

It's annoying when the little people like me
who wind their weary way to work every day to pay massive taxes
have to look at the richest paying nothing.

It's USA 'Capitalism' where the divide is stretched further so the rich can get mega-rich and the poor start breeding like rabbits uncontrollably.

Australia has had rich and poor traditionally, but instead of 'dividing', we've mostly tried to allow the Rich to get laid and the Poor to get paid.
America hates that.

Australia has to become competitive on the International Scene. It's a jungle out there.
So to compete. Our Rich have got to get richer. Our Banks have got to get richer and thus both get more powerful.
Only a 'few' Nations take Australia seriously. We are nothing but a backbencher on the International Political Scene. We ain't gonna cut it there. America get's the Presidential position and the UK are sitting second place.

Our domestic population growth is pretty lame too.
Women too busy working for the Economy as children cost the Government too much money and hence why we are one of the biggest 'Aged' societies in the world.
Shady Pines Retirement Home?

You bite from the American apple. Then watch this continent shatter into many small 'independent' nations of their own accords. That is why you hold onto the Union Jack because you know Australia will politically die for the sins of the USA.

There can be only 'one'.

Even worse is how the gov here supports multinationals over the locals and even throws money at them in exchange for a few lousy paying jobs with no job security Sad

By creating rich and powerful businesses in Australia,
besides lame Casino operators  Roll Eyes like Packer who had to race back to Melbourne from Vegas to kiss the Sheik's rings to plead to them not to wager such big bets and his newly opened Crown Casino and send it broke!

Doing so would give Australia Mega-Corporations that will employ millions. Look what NASA and other industries do for the USA. Australia is a nation of small business owners.
Yeah, Jerry Harvey and Dick Smith are really major leaguers.  Roll Eyes

that just proves my point. There was billions always available for rent-a-job from Detroit and Tokyo to make old clunker piles of junk but no orders for this local electric car manufacturer in Castlemaine and instead the gov preferred to procure their trial EV's from Tokyo. And now Albasleezy is talking about a renewable energy industry creating lots of jobs - What a hypocrite Sad

The Govts. should have read Ozpolitic and followed our good advice.
Then we would have had a wonderful, prosperous electric car industry.
However they just did what the multi-nationals told them.
