What we need is a phone app just like Tinder for all prospective immigrants which all Australian citizens can register to use.

Prospective immigrants would have a profile showing their work and education history, a blurb of why they want to immigrate and a photo and we can all swipe left or right accordingly to determine if they get in.

Would anyone right swipe this guy?

London Bridge attacker named as Usman Khan, 28

35m ago 12:35
What we know so far

Two people, one man and one woman, died after being stabbed in an attack that started at Fishmongers’ Hall during a conference about rehabilitating offenders.
Two women and one man were injured and remain in hospital.
The suspect was shot dead by police on London Bridge, about 2pm.
He has been identified as Usman Khan, a 28-year-old man who was jailed for terrorism offences in 2012 after pleading guilty to involvement in the 2010 Stock Exchange Plot.

He was arrested in December 2010 and released on licence (parole) in December 2018, wearing an electronic tag. He had reportedly been invited to attend the Learning Together conference.
Nine men, including Khan, pleaded guilty on the eve of their trial to plotting to bomb the London Stock Exchange, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey, and had a handwritten list noting the names and addresses of other potential targets including Boris Johnson, who was then mayor of London.
The plot was said to be inspired by al-Qaida.
The sentencing judge identified Khan and two others as “the more serious jihadists” and said they should not be released until they were no longer a threat to the public.

Johnson telegraphed concerns with the parole system in his second press statement late on Friday, telling reporters had “long argued” that it was a “mistake to allow serious and violent criminals to come out of prison early.”

Love them!

In a bizarre development, it has emerged that Khan may have attended a story telling and creative workshop at conference held at Fishmongers’ Hall just moments before the attack began

Ironically the conference, organised by the University of Cambridge, was on the rehabilitation of offenders

So much for "de-radicalisation" eh?

The attacker, named by police as 28-year-old Usman Khan, was out of prison on licence at the time of the attack, in which two people were killed and three were injured.

Khan was one of nine people arrested for involvement in the Stock Exchange Plot in December 2010 and, at 19, was the youngest of the group. But in his sentencing remarks, Mr Justice Wilkie said Khan and two others were “more serious jihadis” than the others.

He said Khan should not be released before he had served a minimum of eight years of his 16 year sentence — which, backdated to his arrest in December 2010, saw him released in December 2018. He received a 20% discount on his sentence for pleading guilty and was subject to a terrorism notification period of 30 years.

Followers of ISLAM [Mohammedans] who are charged with, and convicted of, terror offences within Western nations,
should suffer the equivalent of ISLAMIC law punishments, for such crimes - imo.

After conviction, the 28-year-old Usman Khan, should have been publicly executed - beheaded, or hanged.

After [public] execution, his head must be placed atop a pike, on public display [in a prominent public place] for a week, behind a secure fence.

Its the ISLAMIC way.

And we should do the very same with those convicted of terror offences, who are 'sitting' today, within 'Super-MAX' prisons.

They are ALL convicted ISLAMIC terrorists.

They are ALL persons who wish to destroy our common-wealth, and replace it with regime ruled by ISLAMIC law.

The government [UK, and in Australia] should ask for tenders for executioners [identity to be kept strictly anonymous].

The government would have lots of applicants, imo.

.

ISLAMIC law penalties, for sedition and treason offences [i.e. 'terror offences'].....

"The punishment of those who......strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world..."
Koran 5.33

"Truly, if the Hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and those who stir up sedition in the City....whenever they are found, they shall be seized and slain (without mercy)."
Koran 33.60,61

I have no idea  how you came to that conclusion....we havent had a terrorist attack in our country....

so we have no understand of the cold fear that would grip Mr and Mrs Average as they go about their business.... maybe you think they over reacted?

You dont remember earlier in the year they were talking ab out banning knives?

Spot

well I did hear where a soldier got his head chopped off in London   maybe thats why?..

as far as I know knives are illegal here as well..

as well they should be..

I still dont know what that has to do with this terrorist attack!

I told you - its only in the news because they want to ban knives. Give lots of publicity to knife crime. It happens all the time but suddenly its in the news.

Local Islamic furry faced bastards sentenced to decades in jail. What will happen when they are let out? One (at least) is a recidivist already:

...

Three terrorists who plotted a Christmas Day massacre in the heart of Melbourne as payback for the war against Islamic State will spend between 22 and 38 years in prison.

Ahmed Mohamed, Abdullah Chaarani and Hamza Abbas were found guilty last November of conspiring with Hamza’s brother Ibrahim Abbas to plan a terror attack at the popular Federation Square on Christmas Day 2016.
...

In sentencing the three men on Friday, Supreme Court judge Christopher Beale said they had embraced Islamic State’s hateful ideology and their own views were so warped they believed a mass slaughter of innocent civilians “would be a glorious act pleasing to Allah”.

The stupidity of that belief (ie Islam) was only matched by its malevolence,” Justice Beale said.

Mohamed, 27, and Chaarani, 29, are already serving 22 year sentences for their roles in burning down a Shia mosque in Melbourne’s northern suburbs in an act of terrorism.

Islam is NOT the Religion of Peace, it is malevolent stupidity.
