Drain the Artesian!

Seems the Government's only answer to the Droughts of NSW is to allow towns and farms to add more 'Bores' into the already shrinking supply of the underground Artesian Basin and drain it for their short term quick fix.

This sums up the inability of intelligence of the Australian Political management of this country.

The stupidity of Australian Politics is obvious.
They make ads asking for 'innovation' - because they can't.

Trillions of gallons of tropical rainfall just gets washed out to sea every wet season.

You're right.

Government throwing all this money around for Droughts and Bushfires like a comfort blanket.
But they will not spend money on 'prevention' and long term provision.

It should be mandatory that all 'bushland' Homes should be Straw Bale built - which don't 'burn down' and the idea of 'cellars' with Oxygen Cylinders in them to survive a sweeping Wildfire over their home (like USA has cellars for Tornados, etc) - is beyond the Governments (both Lib & Lab).

Pipelines and Canal systems across the country would turn the Australian deserts into massive Okavango/Nile Delta - like areas. Moving water into the interior could provide something akin to the Amazon tributaries.

But no. Just hand victims 'cash' to buy more homes and keep the real estate industry happy.

The Govt spent over $80 million on a referendum so that arse clowns could get married but not a penny on anything we really need like water security. They should all be in jail for criminal negligence.

I plonked a 100lt plastic drum next to the washing machine where I drain the rinse cycle then attached the garden hose to the tap to water the grass.

What happens when the Artesian goes dry? It's half empty now. It's not inexaustable.
Back to square one and with an empty underground water supply too.

We gotta 'make water' out there.
