As a general rule no.

Strange, isn't it?

We have no problem drinking milk from an animal, but many (or maybe most) of us are put off by the thought of drinking milk from a human.

A few years back an ice cream shop in London had a product that contained human breast milk and it was popular.

Apparently it's popular with bodybuilders.

Bodybuilders are clamoring for this woman’s breastmilk

We used wet nurses until not long ago.

Human breast milk is generally free of communicable diseases such as AIDS, AFAIK. But it is generally safer to avoid contact with similar species. That's why so many religions ban pig.

If your mother breast fed you it's what you were raised on.

You're probably still a Bitty Boy.

Humans have no problem raising their children on milk from some random farm animal, but they wouldn't dream of feeding their child milk from another human being.

I find that a very interesting phenomenon.

Not a criticism - just an observation.

I'm talking about most people.

Sure, some are okay with it, but most people would rather give their kids milk from a random farm animal than a random human.

People's preferences reflect the relative cost. Cow milk is cheaper than petrol these days. Human milk used to be the norm. You also didn't need a fridge.

With testing & permission of course.

That being from a fear of HIV or HepC or similar from junkie mothers e.g.

Completely understandable today.

Farm animals usually don't carry those.

I'm talking about at the breakfast table.

Do you think many members of the public would buy safe, pasteurized and homogenized human milk in a carton from Woolworths and Coles like they do with animal milk?

Meh, it’s just cultural, wet nurses and communal feeding has existed in most societies at different times.  In some societies, ie PNG highlands, human milk can be used to feed piglets.

If safe human milk was sold in the supermarket, at half the price of animal milk, do you think most Australians would buy it and pour it over their Corn Flakes?

Who is going to line up to be milked & if lactating why wouldn't it be for a baby?

Unreliable supply really.

it tastes great to babies ... not so much for anyone else.
