To start with we havent removed guns from all Australians, there are more guns in legal hands than ever before. Secondly as to how its working for us we have a gun fatality rate around 10 percent of the US on a per capita basis.
Thirdly, feel stupid asking those questions? You should.

School Shooter Dies in Car Crash, 21 Years After Opening Fire at Arkansas Middle School

"Drew Grant was 11 when he and a friend, Mitchell Johnson, fatally shot four students and a teacher at an Arkansas middle school in 1998. Last weekend, Grant, now 33, died in a car crash."

Why was he even in a car?

Spot

He was a free man.

He only served a very short sentence in prison juvenile detention (because he was tried as a juvenile, they could only keep him locked up until he was 21).

He was released in 2007.

"11-year-old Golden (boy in the pic) and 13-year-old Mitchell Johnson shocked the state of Arkansas and the U.S. when they became some of the nation’s youngest school shooters.

"They set off a fire alarm before gunning down five people in Westside Middle School in Jonesboro.

"They killed four young girls: Paige Herring, Stephanie Johnson, Brittney Varner and Natalie Brooks, and 32-year-old Shannon Wright, a teacher."

⦿ In America Murder is illegal.
⦿ Attempting to murder another human being is illegal.
⦿ A felon possessing, attempting to purchase, or in any way owning a firearm is presently illegal.
⦿ Shooting people indiscriminately is already illegal.
⦿ Using firearms in a criminal manner is already illegal.

Your unfortunate, sad as they are, examples of unusual & criminal behavior are again absolutely no reason why Americans should or could be expected to relinquish their Unalienable Right to Keep & Bear Arms, the guns they presently depend upon to defend themselves & their loved ones.

Americans use firearms anywhere from 500,000 to upwards of 4,000,000 times a year to defend themselves, their loved ones, their friends, & their property.

New, more restrictive laws will, as always, only affect honest people, the law-abiding American Citizens who chose to have firearms to defend their lives, or the lives of their loved ones & friends.........they are the only ones who are ever affected by gun laws, for we all know criminals will never be affected by those same laws, because criminals by nature never obey the law. The trade-off isn't worth it, & never will be.

So, as long as violent criminals exist, America will depend on guns to be used specifically for self-defense against violent crime, as well as other legal purposes.

The lawmakers can't defend good people by writing yet more ineffective new laws, & law enforcement can't be everywhere to enforce the law, new or existing, when precious moments count. Americans will always have the responsibility to remain their own first-responders when their life, the lives of their loved ones & their friends are in desperate danger.

The NRA literally thinks that people should be able to have RPGs.  Seriously?

I have no link to any such quote, but if you do...........

IMHO, as an American Citizen, I personally think it would be appropriate to have any weapons that a tyrannical government might use against the American People.

Yep.

Excellent post.

Death by gunshot was the second-highest cause of death in the United States in 2016 among children and adolescents.

Let that sink in for a moment.

So you are saying no one can be trusted with a gun, I agree Panther. Guns dont kill people, people with guns kill people.

American Citizens do not have, or need, government granted permission to keep & bear arms, they have a Unalienable Right to Keep & Bear Arms, affirmed & protected by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution....The Law of the Land.....

Yes, and they love those toys more than they love their children.

Number of children killed or injured by guns in the US so far this year = 2,104

That's an average of 10 every day.

But that's the point, Greggery. If those kids had access to firearms they could have defended themselves.

Anyway, preventing them from owning guns is against the constitution.

preventing them from owning guns is against the constitution.

Not really against the constitution only against the current interpretation of the constitution which is basically sponsored by the gun lobby.

There is no way to legitimately compare Australians with guns, & Americans with guns. It's like comparing Yank prime ribs of beef with Aussie lamb sausages.

There is no comparison.........over 375 million firearms, of which well over 95% are totally unregistered, & owned by Americans who are known worldwide for their complete disdain & total distrust of all government.

Americans will never be found obeying any government orders like the Australians did, who obeyed orders for them to turn in firearms ..... Polls taken of American gun owners say that Americans would probably be over 70% to 80% non-compliant, with any similar government order to turn in their AR-15 Rifles & other semi-automatic firearms.

Outside of some similar ancestry, & a similar language, America & Australia have totally different cultures, totally different histories, & totally different geographic circumstances -- one with predatory animal systems.

From the 1500's onward the earliest American settlers were faced with many more dangers than Australians could probably imagine, & the need for firearms was absolutely necessary in order for these American settlers to survive. Firearms were as important as life, for they meant life. Years of wars with the French, Dutch, Savage Natives, & eventually the English meant generations of American settlers needed to learn how to use firearms as soon as they were able to. Learning how to shoot accurately was way more important than learning how to read, or write......Learning to kill, butcher, & store game, & fend off criminals before the age of 12 years.

American firearm genius reduced the once Great British Army into fleeing rats by relying on highly motivated militia forces, sharp shooting guerrilla warfare & backwoods experts, employing superior firearms & unconventional tactics. Since Independence from the Tyrannical British Monarchy America had to fight another war with once Great Britain, resulting in another resounding British defeat. They also had to fight wars with the Spanish, & the Mexicans before the Two World Wars, of which the Second was on two fronts. If that wasn't enough, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, & Various Actions in the Middle East....America's reliance on firearms for over 400 years becomes obvious.

1,000 dead bodies ----- 10,000 dead bodies......body counts lends nothing more than a reason for the living to temporarily pause, reflect, & mourn for those fallen that will surely be missed.....but they change nothing, except redoubling the efforts & resolve of the living to continue on.....

I said it before, & I will say it one more time......

After the mourning subsides, Americans will always stand up strong & tall, dust themselves off, pay homage to those who have fallen, & undaunted, move forward with their American Constitutional Freedoms & Liberties intact, prepared to take on all challenges from whatever might come their way..........never forgetting the sacrifices of those that have passed......... ...

Well, it is inevitable that one day Panther (or one of his) will win the Grand USA Lottery of Life Death by Gun Violence.

Then he may well tell about how he and Team USA will rise in the morning, the Flag is still there, dust themselves off and wait for the next carnage......oh hang on.....no.......that is not right...they 'don't give a stuff that the carnage WILL happen' 'cause they must have the means by which said carnage will occur.

Well, I was born in the USA, & proudly lived there for most of my life. I now live here in Australia, & have for the better part of the last 30 years. When I'm here I only exercise whatever the Australian Law affords me, but when I'm in America, I exercise ALL my American Freedoms, Liberties, & Rights to the absolute fullest! I carry my
PX4
wherever I go, not for any other reason except that I enjoy it's company. I'll probably never need it, but if I do, I'll have the chance to defend myself.

Again, when I return to Australia, what you might say is my new home away from home, I return to observing Australian Law, & whatever rights I'm afforded here.

Lol, the average american is obese and useless at just about everything. And as I pointed out Australians own more guns than at any time in history. You appear to be a little mentally challenged when it comes to facts. Post another gun meme, that will make up for your lack of IQ points.
